People don't flag just to stop an opinion, people may find it properly offencive and, if so, it will be flagged to not cause discontent. Also, to totally get rid of the flagging policy could cause minors to see generally inappropriate videos.

Whomever flagged your video was very petty, and you can tell where You tube's opinions lie when they decide to flag a video. Notice a whole lot of white supremacy videos aren't marked as inappropriate. Cosign with hastious's comment about the "fat ass sista" videos.

I disagreed with you on the Phelps thing and you turnerd out a little wrong in what you thought what would happen to him but I don't see why it got flagged. How was I wrong? He got suspended from competition for 3 months. 3 months in which he had no scheduled swim meets. Kellogg's announced that they will not renew their contract with him. A contract which is a drop in the bucket of his over $100 million endorsement portfolio. Note that they did not sever their ties with him immediately.

Well I felt you were wrong on how it will just go away due to all the media slamming I saw in my opinion. And no his endorsement by Kellog wasn't taken away fast but that was because they waited to take in the public response to the photos. I personally thought he wouldn't have any consequences at all due to his ahievement but even I was wrong about that one. And I still feel it wasn't anything to do with race simply his global status that would allow him to go unscathed.

The flagging process is usually abused by people who simply use it as a tool to stop debate.

There should, at least, be some sort of human review of flaggings.
