  • I prefer Gould, but he is dead :( PS: Rubinstein is also very good.

  • in my opinion, the best chopin pianist of all time (besides chopin himself) i know that this is schubert.

  • In my opinion, this deserves more than excellent. It's dang!

  • In my opinion, this deserve more than good. It's excellent.

  • The world has been so lucky for the fact that Mr. Rubinstein survived the nazi death camps. What an exquisit player; just wonderful. A pity Morpheus enclosed him into his arms already long ago. Enjoy!

  • well, not horowitz, of course... sounds... constipated :-D

  • hahaha...good play...but he is like fall as sleep :)))

  • eccezionale!!! complimenti, è bellissimo questo brano!!!

  • it is a very deep and moving playing

  • I believe when you fall in love with a song, the performer of that piece can never be outdone. I have run into this countless times. I heard this piece first performed by Martjien van der Hoek and not even THIS is better to me. Though I can appreciate this version (in fact Rubinstein is my favorite pianist) for some reason I expect certain things to be legato and certain things to be accented or rubato. It's the nature of the beast. The question is then, what is wrong and what is right?

  • @JoshTheCichlid And the answer is, of course, what sounds good. :P No, really, that's all that counts, to be honest.

As for performers of this piece, I strongly, strongly recommend Mitsuko Uchida to you. She plays all of the impromptus, and they are brilliant. Check them out, if you haven't.

  • @throwscats She plays Beethoven as well, excellent I might add, and her interpretations of Mozart are equally as good! I've always liked her ~

  • Reminds me of butterflies

  • it's amazing how one could prefer a less acclaimed pianist over a well known pianist. rubinstein is an incredible pianist, i love his work, but i prefer my piano proffessors rendition of this song over his. i mean, my teacher is an incredible performer and i just like his rendition. but rubinstein is so good!!!

  • The best rendiution of this impromptu

  • I believe that Rubenstein perfectly captures the essence of this piece. I agree that his little slower tempo seems right.........

  • Surra de Schubert!

  • Love the way Rubinstein plays the interlude...it seems like most tend to rush it, but the slower pace just seems right.

  • i still like Horowitz's much better

  • Except for a instability of tempo at the beginning some mesures, I like this.

  • 2:33 _______ brividi...

  • Brilliant!!!

  • C'est vraiment dommage que cette pièce ne soit pas plus connue tant elle est magnifique... Puis l'interprétation est superbe =)

  • I love Rubinstein an I think he's just PERFECT.

  • very nice piece :)

  • good

  • well played
