I agree about the before 2000 era, cuz these days mainstream music for like 80% is unoriginal crap. I also have a question. In the end of friends episode 805 this song was played, and it sounded quite different (I liked that melody better, than this one :D). Is it from a different version or smth? thanks in advance.
I grew up as a 90s kids with 90s music rock, euro dance, and songs had a cool unique rhythm which I'll remember for rest of my life. No extensive cell phones, no quad core computers, no Xbox, PSPs, fun playing outdoors in grass and trees listening to radio - yet life was so much fun better than 2000s. Thumbs up if you grew up in 90s and consider yourself very lucky.
@virgoptrex yea..you are 100% right...i grew up as a teen in the 90s...how i enjoyed my life without modern gadgets...just nature, music n friends...:)
i swear, this generation is dissapointing, none of the music is good, the kids have bad role models, the us is f'ing itself up and on top of all that, when i was growing up, i was promised flying cars, hover boards, and all that good stuff, and what did they end up making that was worth while? not much comes to mind that we didnt have back in the 90's... may the 90's live on forever... and remember WYSIWYG!!
@blackstorm5000 Totally agree for America at least, i'm a brit who today loves Indie Music and think british indie music is getting nothing but amazing but the generic chart music is getting so much worse including in America. In the uk the 90's was mostly pop from the 80's but worse (Mostly). Today we have some amazing indie artists but anything from the chart. Anyway Love this song!
man the 90s. where the music wasnt about stealin, hoes, sex, bootie, drugs and cars. You could turn on mtv and actually see a music video. Everything was more simpler back then people werent trying to copy each other either. Im just glad that i got to live through the 90s its sad knowing that these kids today have justin bieber to call music if you can call that music
@keanufan09 i agree. justin beiber needs to fall off a clif and die lol. but yeah music in the 90's still had meaning. i was 12 when the 90's ended. it wasn't just music that went down the poop shoot once the 2000s hit it was people as well. i remember people back in the day seemed freindlier and more down to earth in general
loved the 90s! used to just goof around all day like this one time my cousin and i rode our bikes to the lake just to see if we could ride them under water. nope
man This song and other songs from my childhood make me cry and I'm tired of people saying Next year will be better no it won't are good times are behind us I'm sorry to say that but it's true I'm thankful that I did not spend my childhood inside all day long like theese kids today parents need to step up before it's too late and make them play outside and I think 7 year olds should not have cell phones like my cousin RIP 90'S great times I'm sorry if I affended anyone
BEST SONG! and your description just made me so nostalgic. i miss ridding my bike around the neighborhood jamming out to semisonic, sugar ray, third eye bling, goo goo dolls, bsb, and matchbox 20. i had better music taste than i realized back then. 1991 represent!
the turn of the Millennium government got a huge bosst and civil rights took a beating. everything rolls down hill starts with them and spreads out!!!!
Now we lock ourselves up in our houses, and our version of communication is by getting on the internet and watching videos on youtube. well this video makes me think about how simple, and happy the world was, and I'm not going to let that thought fade away by sitting inside all damn day. I'm going outside, and I'm going on a walk, because I feel like it. and not or any other reason
@TopherTV Like no one would have called Obama a socialist in the 90s! We just listen to whatever the tv tells us nowadays, we sit at home watching CNN and Fox and get paranoid about sht that's not that bad.
being born in 93, the only thing I remember about the 90's was that there was more happiness. at the beginning of the new century, technology got such a push that people seemingly faded away. sure, we all still try to be happy, and we all still find a reason to smile... but when was the last time we all stepped out our front door, just to be outside? when I was a kid, I would see people walking by, and even comonly, you could see your neighbors.
@TopherTV really liked what you wrote, i feel the same and i was also born in 93. 90s seriously represent such happiness for me... even if i only remember briefly.
@TopherTV There was. I was born in 88 and don't remember all of the 90s, but 9/11 made everyone depressed. Before 9/11 I was high as a kite and not because I was a kid. The economy was good, we had a surplus, foreign issues were pretty decent at the time, technology seemed so far ahead of its time. Everyone had great hopes for the future New Years Eve 2000. To see it as backward and regressive as it is now, is just depressing.
Ah... The song that would be ALWAYS playing the second I woke on the radio. Gotta love those hangover days being cured by such a fucking nostalgic song.
@konijntjesbroek pop culture really reflects the mood of the people. Right now people are docile and apathetic, they just want to hear music about drinking and fucking. When they finally grieve (like they did in the early 90s with grunge) we will see another musical explosion.
@Sshelly34213 don't know that they are more apathetic than we were in the early nineties. I am pretty sure that for a few generations to come gen-x will equate w/ apathy. The difference I see currently is that the kids today are more hopeful than we were. They believe in the systems in place or their ability to change them.
@konijntjesbroek I agree, I think people are simply in a phase of apathy due to 9/11. Which of course leads to pop cultural apathy and in my opinion this is a completely different thing. I know from talking to my friends that my generation really does want to use the system to try and make the world better. I certainly do.
We have so much that needs to be done, to ignore it is imminent destruction.
Us children of the seventies, eighties, and nineties are all loving this. Hell, I was born in 1973, but this is the music that dominated my post college years when I before I became a responsible result. What great times that have been lost.
@DrRock2016 Oh My Gosh!!!! The fashion of that time... the beginings of gloss for lips. I remember how every girl of my school had that invisible gloss... those times I miss them so much.
Oh My Gosh!!!! The fashion of that time... the beginings of gloss for lips. I remember how every girl of my school had that invisible gloss... those times I miss them so much.
I miss the 90's so much I'm crying as I type this I don't look forward to new years eve because each year just keeps getting more worse I don't stay up for the ball drop anymore because it drags us more away from the 90's let me ask you guys this what good has come out of this new decade nothing you have the oil spill TV is filled with more crap and if you ask me MTV should change it's name to RTV I miss the times when kids were kids and people got along great and played outside all day long
@steelersfan288 I agree with you 100% Times were so much better than, better t.v, better movies and MTV actually showed music videos. Now all they show is crap television, I don't know why they still have a video awards show, they don't show any video's except for an hour in the middle of the night when everyone is sleeping. I can't remember the last time I watched cra... I mean Music televison and VH1 is the same no video's anymore just dating shows and celebrity rehab! SHM!
funny is that teenagers today don't see it like you all. the 90s were better........................for you. the teenager today like to be like they want to be. and not all of them play indoor all time. think of this...
The 00s sucked for teens, I was a teen trust me, it sucked balls. There was never anything to listen to on the charts, really awful hip hop and RnB that has soiled the genre forever. The tv has been utter garbage, they literally play reruns of 5 sitcoms all day on some channels. If you have basic cable..you're fucked. You might as well get rid of the tv. Even on digital there is nothing to watch. Everyone is on the net now and it sucks, people argue like mother fuckers.
funny is that teenagers today don't see it like you all. the 90s were better........................for you. the teenager today like to be like they want to be. and not all of them play indoor all time. think of this...
@MeEstasOyendoInutil i think the best thing that you can do with that feeling of wanting to relive 2001 to its fullest is to turn it toward today and this very moment and make 2010 a new memory that you can look back fondly upon as well. i understand that feeling though, however, i think that comes from thinking that we had more possibilities at a time in the past than we do now, and i simply don't think that is true in many cases.
You guys need to sort it out, fuck the 21st century??? Never heard such an absurd in my life. Are you Dr Who or something??. The world will KEEP changing, make no mistake about that. Thats because things EVOLVE. Not just people but culture, technology and attitude. Dawkins described evolution as positive change and he had a point. Its not like we are degenerating or anything, things are changing just the way they were in the 90s and will continue to do so as that is the way of the world
wish i could go back this 21st century digital age is horrible the kids are turning into digital zombies hip hop is taking over and the worlds gone to hell
@joethehunter It's only been ten years! Give it some time!
Next time, think who you vote for, don't vote for idiots like Bush. The only reason this decade sucked so much is because Bush spent our money on bullsht, made the general public paranoid and depressive with his inability to speak coherently. Whatever happened to rebuilding over the twin tower site?? I bet Gore would have been all over that sht.
i sure miss the 90s when smoking ciggarettes were actualy cool and no damn cell phones or at least not at reach of a mid class punk teen or high speed internet downloads i actualy waited 6 hrs to download this track back in the day
Power to the days of rebook pumps and a world that acutualy gave a damn about aids rsrs
Man, I was born in 1985, and Im proud to say I grew up in the greatest era of music since the 60's. I only wish I wouldnt have taken it for granted so much. Who wouldve thought that music would turn into such corporate garbage. The late 90s were such a great time to be a teenager... talking with your friends about girls, and listening to great rock music... I feel bad for kids these days.
@wink2873 I agree with you, I thought that time was the most amazing part of my life. What sucks now these days, is that most popular music is R&B and Rap don't get me wrong it's okay, but I don't know its something about rock that brings me back to 'like driving a truck down a pizza parlor and listening to a rock song. and drinking a coke with your buddies and your girl.' at least that is how I saw it.
@Thereisalwaysmore The problem is that it's the ONLY music popular, nothing else is on the radio. God it's so annoying, rock is my favorite genre and I literally have not heard a decent rock song...since Closing Time!
RnB has become too mainstream and has thus been soiled forever. I miss black pride bands like Arrested Development, I hate this new crunk sht that glorifies material possessions. It just feels so shallow and unsatisfying. Where is my great musical movement?
@wink2873 I was born in 88 and witnessed that. I waited for my own great musical movement..I'm still waiting. This decade has been absolute shit for music. I'm really insulted by this crap. Ke$ha?? Can you imagine if she came out with her cd 10 years ago? She would have been laughed at, her cd wouldn't even have been able to sell at target. Now she's a no. 1 hit. God, it irritates the hell out of me. We need to get off our asses and take some action.
@xso61673 I miss the 90's myself, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Oasis, Reverend Horton Heat, Amazing "Royal" Crowns, Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim), Chemical Brothers. I don't miss garbage where people sing like they gotta take a dump &/or have clothes pins on their noses. Is this song like that? Well... I guess at least they're not Nickleback or .38 Special, that's the only positive thing I have to say about this song.
@xso61673 im with ya i miss the 90s to man rember driving to cincy to spend the week with a chic like a 6 hr drive herd this song like 10 times on that drive its self lol
stuff is still very simple these days, you just need context and don't believe everything you read. I do agree though with the 90's being a wicked musical decade. ;)
Every generation and every decade idealizes the past. Think of the the 50's wanting a simpler time away from war or the 70's wanting a simpler time away from the riots and violence from the 60's.
Unfortunately time always moves on, and will do so until the end
Like this if you just watched this MV or leave a comment here, so I know you just watched this and I miss the 'love 90s' comments.

I miss the 90's so much I'm crying as I type this I don't look forward to new years eve because each year just keeps getting more worse I don't stay up for the ball drop anymore because it drags us more away from the 90's let me ask you guys this what good has come out of this new decade nothing you have the oil spill TV is filled with more crap and if you ask me MTV should change it's name to RTV I miss the times when kids were kids and people got along great and played outside all day long
steelersfan288 1 year ago 2

Traikuza 1 year ago
@Traikuza NO.

@Traikuza I know you want to be open minded, but it sucked balls for me.
The only decent thing was the fashion.

Dear lord.
why complain so much...
The future brings change,
If things didn't change we wouldn't have gotten to the technology we had in the 90's and today...
Stop complaining and get on and enjoy your life.

I feel bad for kids these days.
wink2873 1 year ago 2
@wink2873 I agree with you, I thought that time was the most amazing part of my life. What sucks now these days, is that most popular music is R&B and Rap don't get me wrong it's okay, but I don't know its something about rock that brings me back to 'like driving a truck down a pizza parlor and listening to a rock song. and drinking a coke with your buddies and your girl.' at least that is how I saw it.
Thereisalwaysmore 1 year ago
@Thereisalwaysmore The problem is that it's the ONLY music popular, nothing else is on the radio. God it's so annoying, rock is my favorite genre and I literally have not heard a decent rock song...since Closing Time!
RnB has become too mainstream and has thus been soiled forever. I miss black pride bands like Arrested Development, I hate this new crunk sht that glorifies material possessions. It just feels so shallow and unsatisfying. Where is my great musical movement?
Sshelly34213 1 year ago
@wink2873 'Corporate garbage'... That is so 100% true... i believe you have made the best comment in youtube 3VER. Respect.
Misteltein 1 year ago
@wink2873 I was born in 88 and witnessed that. I waited for my own great musical movement..I'm still waiting. This decade has been absolute shit for music. I'm really insulted by this crap. Ke$ha?? Can you imagine if she came out with her cd 10 years ago? She would have been laughed at, her cd wouldn't even have been able to sell at target. Now she's a no. 1 hit. God, it irritates the hell out of me. We need to get off our asses and take some action.
Sshelly34213 1 year ago
Ah the 90's I was born in 89 so I was a kid in the 90s and I remember every second of it. The music was great.

Well... I guess at least they're not Nickleback or .38 Special, that's the only positive thing I have to say about this song.

stuff is still very simple these days, you just need context and don't believe everything you read.
