Too see a person once vibrant with life forced by human anatomy too deteriorate into a sickly and slow moving human waiting for death it's our life but it is a horrible end too our existence. Yes if it were up to me i'd love to have the ability too regenerate and live on life for us humans is way too short and mostly not a sweet ending.

@MrHashMasterFlex At the time of each of the Doctors regenerations it may feel like dying to the Doctor whom is regenerating but fact is the Doctor is not he gets too live on with the memories of his previously lived personas and all their acquired knowledge. quite frankly we humans got a shitty deal. To be able to start anew and still be in essence who you started out as that would be a miracle. Human life has so few true miracles. We live we decay and die it's not right, it's NOT FAIR at all.

He needs his mainly inquistive human companions too help him discover himself especailly after each regeneration. the wonder of having the ability to live on after ones death and still be at your core the same person but living with a fresh outlook rather than the tragic end we humans face regenerating would be cool :D

I've seen all of the Doctors. Dr Who started when I was a child and sometimes made me want to hide behind the sofa, even though the special effects were primitive by todays CGI standards. The first doctor was rather severe, like a headmaster, the second introduced the idea of the doctor as a quirky character. Tom Baker took that quirkiness to new heights, but David Tennant probably had the most all round appeal.

That was a great video, it was nice to see them all :). I watched eps here and there of some of the old Doctors before my time and I love the show even then, but I never saw any of the regenerations except for 9 turning to 10 and 10 to 11 recently :).

I'm sad to see 10 now, but I wonder what 11 will be like, he sees like a good actor.

The doctor always regenerates into a white male because he is a white male. The results of his change are limited by his genetic possibilities. If he had a black ancestor close enough to have the possibility that he would have been born black, however slim that possibility might have been, then there is a chance that he could regenerate into a black man. However, since he was born male, the chances of him regenerating into a female are so extremely small as to not exist.

I think it's because the Timelords are supposed to be mostly white (although, there once was a black Timelord, as an extra), and I think the reason they're always male, I think, is because it's the Doctor's preference (assuming they have a little control). I assume this because in the Matt Smith regeneration, he got upset at the thought of being a girl.

The difference is that in the McGann case, you see him actually regenerate from Sylvester Mcoy's doctor which implies continuity.

The Cushing films were adaptations of two Hartnell serials and are in a different catagory.

1) The regeneration from the 7th Doctor

2) The drawing in the episode Human Nature

3) The footage from The Next Doctor of him

4) And a rediculous number of other things...

And Peter Cushing... well was at best playing another version of Hartnell's Doctor... so I'll give you maybe he should belong with Richard Hurndall who played the Doctor in the 5 Doctors... but even then that's pushing it...

Paul McGann ws included in the official list of the Doctors by the BBC. Otherwise Chris Eccleston would have been #8 not #9. The Peter Cushing movies were "reimaginings" not part of the official storyline. In the Peter Cushing movies, The Doctor was human and his actual name was "Dr. Who" not the alias "The Doctor".

I'm 15 and watched the newer doctor who series, but just recently found out that the show has been going on for over 40 years! Now that I've watched the classic series can't say that I'm not surprised ^^ it's a fantastic show. The classic series was amazing even with the bad FX.

Less-great FX = part of the charm of the entire show. It also allows you to use your imagination. Hell, some of the old FX are better than the new series' CGI. We can look back and smirk at the old FX but, as I said, give it ten years and we'll just be laughing at the CGI in RTD's era. But yeah. Poor FX are part of the charm and part of why DW is/was so brilliant - it was made on a "shoestring" budget back in 1963 and look where the show is today.
