There is no doubt that the caste system is one of the great evils of the world. However, I do not think India is the mother of racism, nor is Europe. Racism has existed ever since humans began to distinguish their own clan as different from another. Furthermore, while it is true that the urban elite in India tend to be high caste and fair skinned, in rural villages you will find many dark skin brahmins and fair skin dalits.

Islam, slaves had few civil or legal rights. For example:
a) Muslim men were allowed to have sex anytime with females slaves - Sura 4:3, 4:29, 33:49.
