  • The sit out is great for the kimura lock. In my Bjj class I get a lot of black belts in this move!

  • Nice

  • I want to show this to my team I am on

  • Great video on the sit out guys, excellent instruction

  • Good Stuff

  • What happens if he has an anaconda choke on and he just gator rolls would the hand on the outside of his knee stop him? It doesn't look like it would.

  • who cares what its called. the move works. Let your opponent think that he has the upper hand by giving him the dominant position. Use the move and reverse the dominant position to you. I use it alot.

  • I call it the sit out.

  • I'm 28 years old. We called this a sit-out in wrestling when I was in high school and still call it a sit out now in MMA. All arguments against 'sit-out' are invalid. :-)

  • I prefer to post my hand in between their leg, you reduce the chance of a counter-sitout y blocking their hips and when you come around you have the leg. Also in wrestling the "sit-out" from turtle or sprawl position you dont come back into them but rather take the back

  • Sit-out is a one of those moves that makes the opponent go WTF?

  • I've never reached all the way across for the sit out before, though I can certainly see how that would make it easier. Just the same, aren't you setting yourself up to be anaconda-choked by pulling that arm across? If your opponent gets the arm triangle locked at that point, wouldn't the sit out more-or-less start your opponent's gator roll for him?

  • @AdamantLife you have to reach all the way across in this position, you use that hand to post your weight when you sit out. if you didn't post out there, you would not be able to reach your head around onto the back when you did the sit-out. That is what breaks the hold, and puts you in the reversal.

  • Just what I needed, thanks for your videos!

  • when you cross your arm over, aren't you setting yourself up for an anaconda choke>

  • No one calls this a sit out in wrestling.

  • @Fludbucket Wrestlers make me smile...

But BTW- in Georgia, I've never heard this called anything other than a sit-out. So chances are that someone, somewhere - does call this a sit out in wrestling.

  • @TechniquePrevails My dad says sit out. maybe youre old fashion? haha

  • @TheGilzam I completely agree... If "old fashioned" is the worst that I get called today- it will have been a good day.

  • @TechniquePrevails I hear you on that one, but I'm not going to criticize you...You'd def beat me grappling. But really, if its not called a "sit-out" then wtf else could you call it? You sit...out. pretty simple. like lateral drop.

  • @TheGilzam Lol- it seems simple to me. I call it a "sit-out" because that's exactly what you're doing. Keeps it simple for my simple mind.

    ;)

Keep up the rolling man. All the best...

  • @TechniquePrevails I live in Oklahoma and that's what we call it, and hell Oklahoma is good at wrestling.

  • @BF1 Go figure, right?!?

  • @Fludbucket it's a sit out that's what we call it in wrestling.

  • hey this is a badass video thanks man! ive been stuck in fuckin turtle and have to just wait till they spin and try to get guard

  • Why not just knee tap him to his back in that position?

  • "Different Angle!"::cue the view of the other dudes ass::

  • nice technique if the person on top sprawls will it still work?

  • That's a ill drill and plumbingdrummer--lol @ the name I like it--that's a terrific suggestion for amping the escape,reversal and sub.

  • If you grab the elbow with your outside arm on the way out & gain wrist control with your posting hand you can drive your head into the back side of your opponents shoulder & drive him to the mat. Steo over & trap the near side leg. With his shoulder on the mat elevate his wrist & elbow. Its a killer shoulder crank & most people will tap.

  • sweet drill

  • thanks man

  • Very well illustrated and demonstrated.

    Cheers bro!!!

  • lesnar sucks, i like frank mir :D but at 1:16 here it looks like the perfect time to set up a kimora or sumtin, im not a pro or anything, i'm just giving my 2 cents :P

  • awesome video man :)

Is that the same sitout drill that Lesnar does in his WWE training video?

Just type in Lesnar training and go to 1:07

    Thanks,

  • Not sure. I have very little interest in Brock Lesnar.

  • That's an awesome escape, I wish I knew that one when I got stuck in that on the street.

  • Sick man...is this the move that Nog used again and again when he fought Bob Sapp?

  • Yes.

  • quick question, once you moved and your head is on there back do you think you could try a chimora from there?

  • You could certainly go for it. I'm not sure how high percentage it would be against high level grapplers, but you could definitely try it.

  • Thing is for a grapler when you do the sit out you cross arm grap so you can drag then step over to place them on their backs. I have to say nice move I do from Turtle and true sitout Have to show ya some time my friend then goto gogaplata from the sitout.
