I've been struck by lightning 4 times in my life. Yes 4 times!! Twice in a thunderstorm in Colorado back in the summer of 1995 and 1996, once in Nashville in June of 1999 and January 2010 in Yucca Valley, CA. I didn't feel a thing, but was knocked to the ground. Needed medical attention each time.

@nemesisgenius ive never been struck by lightning but ive had it come down ridiculously close to me it fried a tree about 10 feet from me when i was walking home, and showered me in something hot, i bolted like a bat outta hell and didnt stop till i was home, when i got home my mum shrieked, grabbed me, and threw me in the shower, apparently i was smoking...sort of, the hot stuff that had hit me was tree sap and it burnt my face a bit, didnt scar tho

Are you sure? LIGHT travels faster than sound. The sound is only delayed when watching lightning from a distance. At ground zero or around it, you both see and hear the lightning at the same time.

A lightning bolt has the amount of electricity to power a small city for a decade, how would ANYONE be able to regain consciousness in a space of time shorter than 2 to 3 mins, after being hit with such a force.

And because the lightning struck close to the old man doesnt mean that it hit him, you cant tell with the naked eye what exactly it hit. It looks like it hit the umbrella which the man is holding by what is probably a rubber handle, rubber does not conduct electricity. And people have gotten up from lightning strikes before, each person has a different threshold and maybe this guy's was just way up there.
