  • is that a camera and tripod on stage?? I see it on the first minute (stopped looking after that). It's to the left of the door.

  • The only thing that I question is... why is Jack's face so dirty? It's not like the place isn't clean or anything

  • "A gun in four parts, scattered across the world. I mean, come on. Did you really believe that?"

    BWAHAHAHAHA!

    Basically, it goes like this.

Master: I have control of the Earth and am about to take over the universe, and in 3 minutes I will kill you.

    Martha: *cracks up laughing*

    Master: What?

Martha: Yeah, no. Not going to happen. I'm way too awesome.

This is why this is my favourite RTD finale, despite sparkly!magic!Doctor and sobbing over the Master. Martha Jones is amazingly awesome.

  • Sums up an RTD ending perfectly. Ha doctor, I defeated your plan No you didn't, I have a new plan which has never been mentioned *de ages* Ha, I'll shoot you! No you won't, I have a forcefield. Okay, I'll shoot them. No you won't, I have telekenises Okay I'll run away No you won't, I can fly! One Deus Ex Machina after another... it's like two children playing cowboys and one has armor, then the other has a rocket launcher, but the other has a forcefield... ludicrous.
  • the human race didnt make the doctor do that, the doctor has all the chaos emeralds

  • Didn't the First Doctor regenerate because he felt his body was getting too old? Surely the Master's plan is bullshit if Ten can just regenerate out of what's been done to him.

  • @JimmyColls I think the Master forced the Doctor to age/degenerate beyond his regeneration capability. (Plus, the Doctor obviously planned ahead; and the fans LOVED David Tennant.)

  • @JimmyColls the reason he became the small creature is because the master aged him past regenerating so he couldnt regenerate

  • 1:08 "I never could resist a ticking clock."

    TICK TOCK, GOES THE CLOCK.

  • At 1:38 how does the Master know about Rose?

  • I FORGIVE YOU. Best line in history.

  • "...but with 15 satellites."

    Say WHUT :D

  • i just noticed. essentiall prayer restores the doctor and turns him into a jesus parallel in this episode. essentially a black mass restores the master and turns him into a satan paralel in the end of time. they even have the same glowing effect

  • Martha Jones the hottest woman thats EVER been in Dr.Who

  • Series 3 was the best. Shakespeare, Weeping Angels, The Master, Derek Jacobi and Martha! She was badass. When Rose saved the world, she cried about not getting the Doctor. Donna saving the world as supertemp was good but rushed. Martha saved the world by walking the Earth, inspiring the People and making a Dictator impotent with words. What did she do to top it off? She pulled herself out of pining after the Doctor and dealt with it. Wish we could have had her for another series with Tennant.

  • is this scene basically the Doctor saying that he is god. yes. is that bad writing...well...cosndiering what hes done over the years, that he is the last of his kind, and that the time war essentially wiped out most other higher races, and he has routinly saved humanity....then yes...he is basically god....and lets not forget he literally defeated the devil....twice

  • I don't even watch this show, I just came here to see a flying, glowing David Tennant.

  • I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.

Always warned but, they never listen do they?

  • "I never could resist a ticking clock."

    Tick tock goes the clock....

  • Doctor-"Look at me im tinkerbell!!!!" Is what my family used to say when we watched this episode...

  • What a stupid bloody ending.

  • @Stupoider it is sorta explained here and aubtly alluded to in ep 2

  • @jkarani oh the super powers bit has been in there forever (tho we aren;t talking X-Men levels here). i remember a story, i think it was called mind worm or something like that hwere the Docto'rs mental powers are boosted and he basically does similar stuff to here. i suppose u r right about the precedent but then we run intot he problem of us clocking the Doctor will be doing it too + the master wud b invincible

  • @jkarani well technically you could say the whole satelite thing is set up. i do remember seeing an explanation somewhere that kinda made sense but i forget where. words are more powerful with conviction put behind them, when thoughts and faith are placed in them. Shakespeare put his faith into the words he used in order to banish the Carrionites. they might not have made sense as a sentence unto itslef but the conviction behind the words was genuine

  • @jkarani well not exactly the master's hypnosis is a manifestation of his telpathic abilities. in the Whoverse all humans have latent telepathic/telekinetic powers and witht he satellites enhancing thier and the Doctor's own telepathic/telekinetic abilities (Time lrods have it too but its slightly more developed) and binding them all together enabled the Doctor to tap into the field when they all combined thier abilities

  • 5:25 CONVERSE!!!!! this is one of the main reasons i love David Tennant.

  • The Doctor uses psybeam! Its super effective!

  • DOCTOR! I nearly cried watching this the first time and it's on tomorrow. T.T

  • @sailorsmexy Thanks for putting up the video. I would have never been able to make my video without it. :) Check out my page to see.

  • I DO I DO I DO BELIEVE IN FAIRIES!

  • Can someone please tell me what music starts when Martha begins with speech and continues through The Doctor's revival?

  • Doctor: TELL ME THE HUMAN RACE IS DEGENERATE NOW

Master: The human race is degenerate

Doctor: damn *stops glowing and flying and becomes old and small again*

  • int he same way that the Globe amplified the powers of words, Martha got 6 billion people, to think and say 1 word at the same time, with the network amplifying thier own natural telepathic abilities (humans have long been established to have untapped telepathic powers, but can't use them like Time Lords) and just like Shakespeare banished the Carrionites with the words they restored the Doctor and gave him immense telepathic/kinetic powers (like Jean grey almost)

  • continued from previous comment. The Amster set up the Arch Angel satellites to amplify his natual time lord telepathic powers persuading people to vote for him and make him the Prime Minister. in his year long imprisonment, despite being old an decrepit (and appearing helpless to the Master) The Doctor tuned his own mind intot he psychic network which was linked to everyone else's mind...damit ran out of space again, hold on

  • Oh, oh wait a minute, this ties into Skaespeare Code. I've been agonising over the ending for years and while there is some stuff within it to explain it i finally disocvered the key to it all. The Carrionites knew a way to give words power, so did the Docotor, but he wasn't as good at it. the shape of the Globe Theatre apmplified the power fo the words, thus Shakespeare, the world's greatest wordsmith could banish the carrionites...wait a minute let me continue in another comment

  • I love the Doctor's shoes...

  • @TheDoctorSherlock YES!!!! I am no longer alone!! By the way, love the name. :))

  • DOCTOR

  • If The Doctor says we can turn the doctor so he can glow and fly then we're badass.

  • *Sigh* This is my favorite scene EVER. I better not be the only one who shouted "DOCTOR!" at the screen the first time I saw it. :D

  • @thalia268 I did :D DOCTOR!!!

  • Manifestation - lets see if 6 billion people could empower peace.

  • @ 3:40 my inner geek really wants to say checkmate

  • @twistoffate29 My not-so-inner geek did.

  • the truth is, the master just needs some lovin. and the doctor won't give it to him ;) lol... i ship it.

  • i kind of wish john simm was not the master because after this performance he would have made a great doctor

  • @playfulpaul1985 John Simm said in an interview he didn't want to be the Doctor. He called himself the baddy doctor, and he likes being the baddy doctor

  • @slightlyinsaneFTW i missed that comment from him

  • @playfulpaul1985 Sorry, just realised, it was actually in The Big Questions with him. I forget where I get my quotes fom sometimes. Link? v=JcjVBqLu3DU

  • Hm... 200,000 ships? Assuming each one would destroy an entire planet, that's still only at least 0.0004% of all the planets in The Milky Way alone! That won't get him very far... Even if each one created a Black Hole, the universe is so vast that barely any of it would be affected.

But, um, yes. Maths aside, great scene!

  • @MervueMeringue

I doubt every planet in the universe is even worth a second glance. The Master had probably already mapped out the start of his Empire, and had enough ships to create an initial border. Then over time continue to expand until it covered all of creation.

  • I really think they downplayed Martha's amazingness, I mean she travelled around the world being hunted and if you've read the books you'll know about Japan but then in this episode she seems really underappreciated...Martha's amazing :D

  • I loved the relationship and the history and hate between the master and the tenth doctor! Plus they are both really fit!

  • 153=The Christ Plan

    153=Purpose+Plan

    153=Time Calculator

    153=Instant Time

    153=ButterFly Act

    153=ButterFly Era

  • Question?! Who else start saying "Doctor" around 3:52? Because I did!

  • The Legendary Tenth Doctor!

  • 3:53 Jack's orgasm face :D

  • what song starts playing at 1:53

  • How many of you think, dispite him being in a cage at 1:33, that The Doctor is still very cute in that scene.

  • knell before zod martha jones

  • I do believe in faries..

  • whats the song that begins to play at 6:06 to 7:46

  • 'never could resist a ticking clock' Brilliant! He sounds so cute! :D

  • Despite this being one of my favourite episodes, the Doctor Jesus bit is fucking hysterical.

  • kneel before Zod Human!!

  • 6:50 Captain Jack face, die bitches!

  • Really do not like the quasi religious undertones of this scene. It is not even Quasi-Religious, but totally religious. The Doctor is literally a Deity that the whole planet prays to for salvation.

  • martha is the most useless companion , amy in series 5 is much better

  • @crazytimmeh619 Useless? She saved the world almost on her own!

  • I loved this series!!

  • Most epic, bad ass scene in the Doctor Who series. Martha was a true hero.

  • 3:48 the master is talking to the scriptwriter when he is saying 'stop.' he just can't believe how cheesy the doctor's regeneration is

  • Anyone else think that would make an epic kids tv show, 'Captain Jack and the paradox machine.'

  • pause at 4:19....doesn't that guy look a lot like rory?

  • @evilpoptartarmy Not really. Lol

  • @evilpoptartarmy no...

  • if i were the master i would have programed the black hole converter control to detonate on the doctors touch then zap away

  • I thought this was brilliant and very well done.

  • i am son docter a SUPER TIMELORD

  • I liked this episode. I just hate how Russel T Davies can only seem to come up with Deus ex machinas instead of clever writing. The "psychic network" thing didn't make any sense. I know It's sci-fi, but that's no excuse.

  • @KingDiamondHead It does. The Three Doctors and Five Doctors back in the classic series established that Time Lords have some Psychic abilities, The Master need the Archangel network to be a low-level psychic mind control device in order to hypnotise the population without them getting suspicious and The Doctor had a whole year to integrate his abilities with the network and a year is quite long time. :)

  • the doctor is a god among men

  • As corny as it looks with the telepathic prayers, I loves me a good epic confrontation. Doctor for the win!!!

  • he did all this because he had an ear infection lol that some time give you a drumming noise

  • 0:26 - that part makes me LOL

  • 3:42-4:35

The Master: No, no, nononoNONO! MOTHERF** KER!!! NO! NO! NO! NO! BULLS** T! BULLS** T! BULLS** T!

4:58 I would have found it more epic if he just grabbed The Master's Laser Screwdriver and crushed it in his hands, but I guess they didn't want to wreck the prop.

  • The ending really spoiled the whole thing, i loved the master as a character, the episode itself was pretty good, but the whole "Everyone chanting doctor so he becomes temporary god to save the world and reversed everything" is both a combination of DeusExMachina, and "It was all a dream" to form the ultimate in awful endings.

Was so glad when Stephan Moffat tookover, I'll take his fondness for timeparadox over Russell's fondness for deusexmachina.

  • @Karragh so you'll take one shitty plot device over another? why? lol moffat fans crack me up.

  • @philyburkhill1 Time paradox has a place. Blink was a good episode, and the paradox at the end was a nice funny little note to end the episode on. Paradox's also kind of have to be written into the episode from the beginning and planned to a certain extent. Where as the end of a season 1 and 3 both really reak of Russell writing himself into a corner and making up some shit to get out.

I'm not a Rabid RTD hater, I think Waters of Mars is one of the best episodes of the new series.

  • I've said this a thousand times ...o.O doctor should have killed the master when he had the chance

  • What's the song that plays when the Doctor grows and flies?

  • @thed0dgydancer look up a song clld toclafane rising its on tht

  • KNEEL BEFORE TODD!!!

  • KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!!!

  • i love martha

  • Even tho Simm's master is WAY more insane than prev ones, I think the Master was always nuts but it was just more on the surface in this regeneration

  • Problem is that at the same time every doctor on Earth exploded.

  • Master- I have a death Ray!

    Doctor- I have a screwdriver.

Master- I have a paradox machine!

    Doctor- I have the TARDIS

Master- I have 4 billion spherical lawnmowers!

    Doctor- I glow and fly.

    Master... o0o ...damn... T-T

  • @Scudhead64 Captian Jack Harkness- Yeah but I'm gay and I can live forever so screw both of you!

  • @Scudhead64 umm its 6 billion

  • lol imagine if he just killed her an the doc just randomly started glow the master would be like wtf?

  • loved this episode

  • What crap was that? They think his name and he suddenly glows, and gets young again? Come on now, they had so many better story lines throughout the years, and THIS is what RTD comes up with?

  • @YeoYeo32 the sub wave network was a telepathic link which the doctor used but with a different effect the master altered it to make him priminister he used it to get young ^^

  • @YeoYeo32 It makes perfect sense and was used to portray the Doctor in a messiah esque light, an theme repeated thruout RTD's run and has been taken up by Moff as well as being a subtext in the earlier stories

  • 0:41 "It's Martha, actually"

Is it just me or does John Simm seem more sadastic than any of the other masters?

  • @Bladerunner93 Definitly more nuts

  • love the "old west" music playing in this part

  • i reall wanted doctor to kick him while he was still flying so it could be called the FG10DK (flying glowing 10th doctor kick)

  • one of the most powerful statement 's of recent times .... the power of attraction, of compassion and love.

  • Does anyone know what the music behind this is called? because I can't find it =[

  • @killswitch929

Jcmcnab is right, however Martha's quest is a softer version of it. There is a music video entitled "Unreleased music, the masters defeat" which is a more powerful version. It is a little more choppier but it is still decent quality.

  • @jcmcnab Rofl! So poetically put.

  • I found this part utterly hilarious. A glowing, flying David Tennant? LOL!!!!!

  • @PS3Worshipper What every girl dreams of xD

  • i love this show!!

  • david tennant used the force

  • ALL HAIL GLOWY, FLOATY, TINKERBELL JESUS!

  • doctor, you truly are the son of god. lol the doctor is so awesome

  • The one thing you can't do is stop them thinking !

  • "Tell me the human race is degenerate now, when they can do this."

    Gets me every time. <3

  • wait so they thought of the doctor then he regenerated wtf?

  • @blackdigr The Archangel network is a psychic field that united the minds of the human race. The Doctor tapped into it and when everything thought of him the combined psychic energy was transferred to the Doctor. He then used it to regenerate.

  • the master is my favorite villain he's the only villain who has actually controlled the earth and kept it for a long time every other villain has been defeated within hours of their controll

  • John Barromans laugh is the gayest little giggle when the doctor changes back into himself it's so cute haha

  • I'm a little confused why the master wanted to kill martha so badly, what did she do or could she have done?

  • @saccharineDEATH

He thought she was assembling a Time Lord killing gun

  • @ProcInc She says it in her speech, that was her cover to keep the master off her trail. She traveled the world telling everyone of the doctor so that they would all think of him once the count down his zero because the doctor told her to "use the countdown" the doctor would never ask anyone to kill. His chose his name "the doctor" he makes people better, he would never ask for killing

  • @YodaTheWise1 I know, but like I mentioned the Master thought she was (as planned). I was answering saccharine's question above

  • @saccharineDEATH well in my opinion he wanted to kill her to make the doctor suffer to kill her infront of him

  • Martha Jones Is Intellignet as Rose Tyler!

  • Owned by glowy floating power. Hehe. I wish I had glowy floating power. That scene warmed my cockles.

  • religious references in their billions.

  • lol luv the western style music in begining :D (john simm rocks) to bad he died it would be epic fight later on. when he heard them say archangel project he face went OH F###!!!!! then the doctor gets hacks and owns.

  • Doctor: Tell me the human race is degenerate now when they can do this!

    Master: NO!

Doctor: And you know what happens now

    Master: NO! NO! NO!!! NO!!!!!

    Doctor:You wouldn't listen

    Master:NO!

Doctor: Because you know what im going to say

    Master: no...

Master is like a bad teenager here: Denies person in charge (Doctor is highest Authority) dosn't know what doctors going to say, denial of not listening... LOL

  • This was such a powerful moment :))

  • haha I always found it funny how the doctor came back in his original outift....i always wondered how that worked....

  • Does anyone else think it sound a bit wrong when he says, "I've had a whole year to tune myself in to the psychic network and integrate with it's matrices."

  • @Dragonfree97 Yes, and part of me thought "How?"

  • Personally I think the 3 master episodes were the best of RTD's work. They'll talk about these episodes for years and years. Voodoo child will be remembered rather than forgotten because of that one infamous scene.

  • my fave monster!

  • Doctor.

  • I like how the Doctor says the Master would never kill himself, then he does a few minutes later. But I suppose he knew about the plan to revive him.

  • Ridiculous... but epic. That would be the best way to sum up the RTD era of Doctor Who.

  • What did you think was particularly ridiculous about it?

  • @mummra4ever There's too many things to list. It was still good though.

  • I love how the revived Doctor looks like he took lessons from "How to be an anime Hero" class 101!

  • HERE, COME, THE DRUMS!

  • I haven't watched it yet, but how does everyone shouting "Doctor" help the Doctor in his state? On another note, how'd people believe Martha's stories and not think she's all "sixes and sevens?"

  • @worldends08

The Master was a complete bastard...Watch the episode and you'll see it.

  • *Cowering in fear*

    Doctor-I forgive you

I was like "WTH is he gonna say?!?!?!" i just laughed so hard!

  • he is scared of the doctor

  • I'd like for the Doctor to meet Uchiha Madara

  • oh, and on 4:34- look at his face. brilliant!

  • this is awsome. i love anything to do with The Master- i dunno why...

  • Everyone loves a rival for the main character (except the rivalry btwn Naruto and Sasuke). On another note, does the power of the people restoring Doctor to his normal self a reference to "Shakespeare's Curse"? (Since it was his word that sealed up those "witches" back in their dimension).

  • Shakespeare curse? i missed that bit :( i must be losing my touch. i can reel off nearly all the eps. of by heart now.

everyone loves the flip side of the coin :) which is exactly what The Master is.

  • @worldends08

The Angel Network. It was a psychic device. The doctor has mild psychic powers, so all he really did was use it in reverse. Like a turbo boost. With everyone focusing on the doctor at the same time it healed him.

  • I just had a thought, the USA's Star Trek, Babylon 5 etc has never come up with anything like the idea of Doctor Whos Time Lord...............lol.............Just a thought.

  • @deskpot1

Nope, Doctor Who is one of a kind, and rightfully so. I love Star Trek, and Star Wars and lots of other sci-fi, but there can be only one Doctor!

  • @pinkdrink1 the best bit is whenever people say stuff like "who would win between spock and luke skywalker"....the answer is always "the doctor would win"

imagine the doctor just appearing in the death star and screwing everything up

  • I think it could only be Doctor and the time lords that could make such a great and epic take.

  • Imagine the anticlimax if the doctor stopped when the master told him to...

  • LOL

  • Why do I think that this Doctor, who began his time with speaking words at the end of his first episode and who used words so often to make his point, is going to go out very silently in the end?

  • this pretty much sums up Russel T Davies: lame but dramatic.

    Whereas Moffat: creepy and epic.

    Roll on season 5.

  • @jbobthebandit

I completly agree :), rtd has had his time, his stories were okay and he deserves props for bringing dw back to tv but his writing has always lacked decent endings, he can write drama and builds up good tension and plots but then seriously falls short with the conclusions - whereas moffat always delivers the whole package - looking forward to season 5 :D matt smith looks like he is gonna be an amazing doctor! :D cant wait, roll on the 11th doc!!!

  • I'm glad someone agrees with me.

Apparently stating your opinion counts as spam now, at least on this vid : (

  • "We should stand upon this Earth together. As it burns." I don't know why.. I think thats a bit romantic.

  • As "voodoo" as it was it was a rarther interesting plot twist dont you think? although when the master was scrambling to get away all the doctor said was "i forgive you" - I wanted him to get his ass kicked =/
