  • This is the first of your videos I have seen. OMG!!! I knew I liked it and wanted to get one, but, you just made me Fall In Love With It! WOW:) Thank you so much for deciding to post videos:)

How long have you been learning and practicing? Did you play any other instruments before your theremin? What has been the hardest thing to learn or do? Any "cautions" to share? Anything else you want to share, would help this newbie:)

(I can hardly wait to check out your other vids!!!)

    Thanks:)

  • @BirdOfParadise777 Thanks for the nice comment! :) It's great that you have fallen in love with the theremin, I'm sure you'll love it even more when you get one - but be careful, it's a lover with a temper!

Right now I've been playing for a little over a year, but the time I'd been playing when I took each video is in the titles.

Unfortunately it's my first instrument. They say it shouldn't be anyone's first instrument but I liked it too much to be thrown off by that...

  • @BirdOfParadise777 About advice, I'm not really the best person to give it, since I'm not an expert... I can only advise you to follow a method (don't just move your arm as I did in my first video) and you can go to the thereminworld forums where there are real experts and great players who can advise you better than I ever would!

  • Bravo! You have very good technique for a beginner! Congrats too on the new instrument! You'll love your Etherwave! Looks like you're studying the Rockmore method of playing. If you don't already have it, can I recommend Ms. Rockmore's method book. Just google Clara Rockmore Method for Theremin and you'll find it for free download. A friend and I published it in 1998- Ms. Rockmore wanted to leave it for the future generation of theremin players. It's very helpful. Keep up the great work!

  • @DavesTrumpet Thanks a lot! :)

Yes, I'm studying the Rockmore method. I already have the PDF version of the book and have been using it as my main reference. Thanks for your contribution making it available, I think it's a very valuable resource.

  • Great!!!
