despite the TC being off, if at launch the rear wheels are moving at less than 5 miles per hour and the motor is spinning more that 4k it will bog the engine down. Trust me its worse with the TC on. At the smallest sign of slippage the motor would bog.
that is my exact best time in my 04 GTP, i do not have the comp-g however. and by the sound of it, and from personal experience, i dont think that was your TC kicking in, it was prolly your rev limiter at 4 grand, that pisses me off all the time, makes it near impossible to do a respectable burnout.
I have not ran it yet. But when this next year rolls around and the track is open im going to find out. I will let you know. Im sure if it is faster its not buy much.
could be, I raced a SS impala 4 times with the V8 and I won by a car link 3 out of 4 times, I tried with Traction off and spun out and it beat me. LOL I think they are going to be really close. GXP weigh more, has larger rims which makes a diff on take off but helps out on top end. let me know what it runs
dude how are you only getting a 15.91?. I have a stock 96 SSEI and my best time is a 14.7@101.

@workensmart you have a lot of mods then. A stock ssei wont come close to that time.

@jeffs93z28 The older SSEI's have the same weight as a GTP sedan and I've raced enough GTP sedans to know. My SSEI weighs a little under 3,500.

it was your TC traction control that kicked in...My 05 Comp G does the same thing upon wheel spin...easily done in the snow..

my GTPcomp g is stock only has a CAI and it ran 14.7 at 95mph and I kept spinning a little on take off, its hard not too.

i have an 04 gtp non comp and i had 9.3 in the 8th and 14.8 in the quarter....good launch or what??? it was stock also

Look at the description - 15.1@91. I just traded my other GTP (98) for this one and haven't gotten the launch down yet.
