You mean educated and articulate, as opposed to the type of characters with the "hood accent" he played in the movies when he was younger???
That's because he was just acting in those parts - he's not really like that. You'll find most actors that played street kids don't really speak like that in real life. Remember that movies are only fantasy and having nothing to do with reality whatever - it is amazing to me how people forget that.
