@undergroundbasement: Golden butts up against the foothills so it's very close. Now if you're asking proximity to ski areas, it's a bit farther, but still closer than Denver or Boulder or even the Springs would be. Winter Park is probably just under an hour away without much traffic.
@gazza3337: sorry, i'm hoping a Golden local will answer your question because we don't live in Golden ourselves. hopefully your friends will know the good places to take you ;)
I moved to Colorado Springs from Georgia last summer and I love Colorado but I don't think I want to put down roots in Colorado Springs, I want to live closer to the Rockies, and have more snow, and be closer to ski resorts, one thing I'm worried about is cost of living...as I found a cheap place to live in Colorado Springs, I know the cost gets greater in and around the Denver area but Colorado Springs to me is a bit on the boring side, How close to the mountains is Golden Colorado?
@mrstonyromo9 I found a cheap 2 bedroom cabin in Evergreen which I moved to in May 2010,got suckered by a shady landlord that said I could put my 2 a/c window units in,after I moved in he said I'd have to pay an electrician to rewire the cabin before I put them, which he mentioned nothing of rewiring before I moved in.I baked my ass off through the summer.Neighbors said I'd get snow starting Sept., -I'm still waiting on snow. This May I moving to west Denver. Hell follows me wherever I move to.
Good video. I live here in Golden and this is a good representation of our beautiful lil' town. Let us not forget the good ol' Buffalo Rose and the late Foss general store.
Makes me homesick. I moved from there to Columbia Tennessee almost two years ago. I miss it. But after surviving lung cancer I couldn't breathe in the altitude. Here it is only about 200 feet above sea level.
