Trust me, I've seen a white guy play the plant in his regular voice and it... didn't turn out so well.

@eddievaliant1 Aside from all the other comments Audrey II I believe has always been African - American. At least he was in the Broadway musical, the 1986 movie that this performance was adapted from, and most performances of this. Levi Stubbs is the original voice. It was written to be voiced by an African - American actor. I apologize for replying to this comment three weeks later however.

@HitmanAssassin11 yeah hes tradionaly played as a african but levi stubbs is not the first the musical was a play before a movie hes just the most famous now alot of people dont care about theater tradition ive seen a surfer and a white femal high pitched voice play him kidna sad these performances were horrible
