2:55 Oh wow, I recognize this as a tribute to the poprular "Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom" flash animation series. Am I right or am I right? (Good ol' Randy Solem!)
I think with shy guys coming all at once is pretty cool. And challenging for other players. I don't think you should change that not only that but whenever that general shy-guy boss throw his bomb-omb and we don't catch it in time, the shy guy's die so you don't have to worry about them actually bumping each other, you get what I am saying?
Would stilt shy guys from Yoshi's Island work better in place of those stilt shy guys?
The animations for them are better and the colors would go along with General Guy. Also think that there should be some sort of pit for the enemies to fall into (possibly two blocks removed ground level under General Guy) to prevent clogging as well as any infinite life cheating (getting a bunch of enemies and then having them die much like in your video).
Have to say, great level, though there are some additions and tweaks to make it more complete.
For the egg ride area, add in those birds on the flying carpet (with controllable carpet exactly like SM2) and a few platforms; that would help solve the problem of losing the eggs. I agree that some enemies should be added as well as possibly a few more birdos placed in some mid points.
Anyway to make it possible to catch thrown items like in SM2, instead of picking them up?
I like how in Subcon Panic Act 1, That at the end of the level you keep going and reach an Area of The Mushroom Kingdom and clear the level though there, I just find that Clever, And the Remixes ROCK!!! XD
I don't see what you find more "colorful" about the GBA tileset, the colors are muddy and washed-out in comparison. The SNES tileset was much more colorful :/
Ah, I kinda dislike the GBA gfx. Also, this main theme remix sounds odd (I like the underground theme remix, though!). The SNES version looks and sounds better to me.
Also, you could replace the Sonic-style monitors with the heart-plants from SMA, and if you're going to use Robirdo or any other SMA stuff, I hope they don't make the levels easier, because that's my main annoyance with that version.
Yes i agree i dont like the remixed main overworld theme to this level either, its crap compared to the original SNES version. Please change. I also like the underground remix too.
Actually, the GBA gfx aren't that bad. It's just that the waterfalls and enemies (minus Autobombs, Green Birdo; especially Hoopsters) look better in the SNES version. I agree on your egg ride suggestions, Starsims. Finally, shouldn't the music change back to "standard" Mario fare at the goal area (It does in SMB3, and it's not needed there!)?
Thats the thing with collaborating on a project this size. Obreck has implemented the new lifebar system but I haven't gotten it yet. Thats why we have to do Source Revision, merging various developer's materials.
Once my Subcon Panic updates reach him, he can give Mouser and General Guy the Heart Meters.
i was stuck....

The SMA:SMB2-hawkmouth is better IMO.

Very nice job fixing up the palletes. Very colorful and bright. Can't wait to try it out. I like the change of music too.

Now, when you say "first act", do you mean that Subcon Panic will span multiple levels, or will it be one huge mega-level?
On the subject of the egg-ride portion of the level; I have a few solutions.
1: multiple Birdos
2: pits to "suicide" in if you get stuck
3: jars that take you back to the first Birdo

I miss Charles Martinet doing all the voices for the SMB2 bosses. :P

What happened to the SMB2 style heart meter for Mousers health, to replace the megaman bar?

What you could do for the enemy cramping is add a pipe, and program them to go through it.
Just a suggestion.
