Yes, I hope too that the pads destinated to those poor girls are not sold and taken by the teachers! IS NOT FAIR ! because in Romania this happens when americans come to help the poor people and the hospitals, the Romanian managers sell more than half of the donations! SHAME ON THEM !!! SHAME ON THEM !!! i am a witness of that !!!!!!!!!!!!
Govermnet? Government? Remember Cuba is where it is today because they shipped there Goverment out in a boat. Cuba has the world's best health care, clean beaches and good food, island paradise. Love it the island goverment, but not their idealogy.
20 YEARS AGO WE DID NOT HAVE THE BIGGEST SLUM IN THE WORLD. How did we get here? How do we get out? Its hard to imagine this when much larger populations like India do not have such a slum. 20 YEARS AGO WE WERE ON THE SAME LEVEL AS SINGAPORE. There lies hope.
slash all the taxes on such items...let them flood the market and be as cheap as possible...even the said poor will have them...banana republic with primitive leaders who only thinks of thy only biological childrens..if any have them that is!
That ia so sad!..surely..kenya we still have a long way to go!..poverty will never b fought when the few continue wield power and enjoy the tax payers money leaving the majority to suffer!
I pity this young girls..why don`t they include in the free primary education the sanitary towels..its essential...the greedy mps should have their salaries slashed by more than half....how come they earn more than US Senators and other developed nations official earn with the level of poverty in kenya...
People let us pass a law...to bear a child or start a family you must be licensed even when legally or civilly married! If you can not meet the basics needs of a child you shouldn't make one!
and when you give birth what we do? take you to jail? hang you? If only there were corrupt leaders basic needs would be available to everyone. Also Kenyans we are selfish.
How many Kenyans know about ways birth control? Do the churches encourage it? NO. Educate Kenyans and they will be more than willing to chnage instead of making laws that will lead us to more problems.
How could we stand and stay that we are free and independent continent while our sisters cannot afford sanitary towls.surely a country like Kenya with MPs earning 1 million $13000 every months and we stand and say we are leaders what kind of leaders who dont even think of the growing generation. God help Africa
In Somalia, young girls also stay away from school during their M period not because of lack of pads but because they get so sick in this period they have to stay at home. They are all sewn up in their vaginas, all stichted up, infibulated with a small opening the size of a match stick. They literally use this stick to measure the natural opening. In the M period, the girl´s abdomens swell, get very sick, fevers, vomit, faint....no blood comes out. Imagine this happening ever month, every year.
its a shame for the kenyan government and the mps look at the way our kenyan little girls are suffering and all our leaders know how to do is add salaries to themselves and others stealing the free primary education meant for these girls God punish all of you
This is the same country where members of parliament earn $10,000 a month for yelling insults at each other and a president earns 2m for sleeping at state house....what an abomination!
