  • how did you catch the 315 at the end?

  • @SteU4IA I just let it hit the ground. The video got cut off and made it look bad

  • dude how much do you weigh

  • your legs are strong as fuck

  • i think that kid in the corner is doing it wrong

  • Pretty good!

  • what excersize is the guy at the right doing?

  • @1JanDeMan1 Good Mornings

  • Wicked Song!

  • Anybody else notice the dude in the back failing miserably?

  • Your heels were coming off the ground at the bottom of the front squat.

  • fail song

  • wtf is that kid doing in the back is that seriously suppose to be him trying to squat? inb4 he breaks his back

  • @Godcaly123 he was doing Good Mornings

  • @Godcaly123 they're called good mornings.

  • how did you lift and concentrate with some bitch singing backstreet boys.Your high school gym? Very nice lift btw.225 is looming over me atm.Keep it up dude

  • @BlandiBoney Thanks man! might as well be a highschool gym... Its rough being around people that aren't serious about what they do. Just gotta tune it out and stay motivated. Good Luck!

  • @delmole85 whats your vertical ? how tall are you just woundering can you grab rim or dunk on 10FT

  • @BustersTexas I could put my arm in the rim at the time of the video. My vertical was a real 34 inches, meaning actually 34 inches. it wasn't testing using the BS football combine method.

  • @delmole85 thanks what is best for vertical or what helped you the most also hexbar deadlifts vs regular deadlifts which one is better ? in your opinion

  • @BustersTexas I would think for a sprinter coming out of the blocks or a football player that a standard dead lift would be better. A hex bad dead lift would be better for a basketball player or someone who has their spine more "stacked" most of the time. The thing for increasing your vertical would be a variety of actual jumping and plyometric exercises, box jumps, depth jumps stuff like that. Cleans and snatch will help but not a ton. Best way to jump higher is to actually jump haha

  • @BustersTexas thanks for the advice im probably gonna start using the hexbar plus it gives you more in a explosive position

  • your "power clean" was a clean your dumb shit. just sayig

  • @nickfb28 First of all, use correct English when you are badmouthing someone. Secondly, please define a power clean. I know how USA weightlifting defines it, but I'm interested to see how a scholar like yourself defines it. Please educate the all us dumb shits.

  • @delmole85 lmao at "scholar"

  • @nickfb28 Actually that was a power clean. He only went into an half squat, not an whole squat as in an clean.

  • @nickfb28

A power clean is any clean caught above the parallel squat position. You're an idiot.

  • @nickfb28 you're an idiot

  • I ended membership at a gym because they started to play music like that.

  • I always get a better pump with the backstreet boys

  • evrybodeyy yeeaaaaaaahhhh

  • Great! You squat fast you must be good at 40yards

Please tell me for Some médical reasons if i do only front squats instead of back squats would i improve my discus throw/shot put? i still practice the power clean/snatch.

  • @mister100m I would only recommend completely replacing back squats with front squats if you are capable of going all the way down. Front squats keep your spine more stacked so they are better in that regard. They also work balance, and ankles a little better. If you dont do down all the way, you will cause muscle imbalance though, The only way to activate the glutes fully in a front squat is to go to parallel or below. They will def help with throwing

  • did you just power clean 315? strong.

  • will doing lunges help with having bad knees if u dont go parallel or is it best to just retrain ur body to go below parallel?

  • @lucasj56 It puts the least stress ont he joint to actually go below parallel. It is pretty well documented. There is still a stigma attached with going below parallel. I would try doing front squats with extremely low weight while going pretty low. this will help build balance and flexibility. Im a strength and conditioning coach for a D1 university and i have seen pretty big improvements in athleticism when athletes become able to lift a decent ammount in a front squat with full range.

  • @delmole85 ok thanks man. is it better to replace back squats with just front squats or do a combo of the 2

  • @lucasj56 It depends on your sport. Since I'm a hammer thrower and i already have a giant ass i don't need to do back squats. I would only replace back squats with them if you go down to parallel or below. If you don't go down low enough you will build a bias of quad strength over glute and hamstring strength. Doing down all the way to parallel alleviates that problem. Even though you may initially feel some discomfort, front squats will be better for you lower back int he long run

  • and fourthly: no one does that much weight with no belt. dumbasss

  • @nazzzie no one does that much weight without a belt? Its only 315. I can name 30 D1 track and field thrower that can clean and front squat 315 without a belt. Your comments demonstrate your lack of understanding. I would suggest you stop leaving ignorant comments.

  • that guy to the right looks weak compared to you :)

  • Backstreet boys tho?

  • Damn Straight! Who doesn't listen to backstreet boys?

  • Awesome power there man... Hope I develop that sorta power one day too.

  • Hah, what the hell is the other guy doing with that bar, it just looks so out of place. Good form man.

  • @Shredwizard445 They're good mornings, not something you wanna try with weight you can't handle.

  • this is kind of random but as your power clean got better could you jump higher?

  • @4loveor4money A ton. Went from 28 to 34 in one year

  • impressive!

  • Great lift. Any tips on the front squat/power clean that you'd like to share? Because they would be more than welcomed!

  • First tip... For clean using your back like i did in the video haha. second tip, buy some lifting shoes so you dont destroy your running shoes. the big thing for me was really learning to drive my hips and to NOT try to yank the bar up. Be patient and let the bar come up after the hip pop. Font squats... try to stay on the heals and go as deep as you can. The main issue for most people is flexability and core stability. If you wanna get really good at front squats, practice overhead squats

  • Thanks man.

  • problem. I thought I could get good at overhead squat by front squatting.

  • Not a problem! Keep doing them both! Overhead squats are one of the best lifts for building functional strength.

  • haha thanks man. I was also wondering, is there any way to build flexibility in your wrists? Mine are really inflexible and it kinda prevents me from front squatting

  • I'm sort of the same way. Try holding the bar with 2 fingers on each hand. The bar should rest totally on your shoulders. The hands to there jsut to keep it from rolling off. Also, holding the bar the way tightest your back up so you will ahve better posture

  • Holy fucc! Good shit, man, good shit! Most guys can't even bacc squat below parallel for that many reps. Scratch that. Most guys can't even parallel squat that much for 9 reps!

  • Solid lifting. good work. dont let anyone tell you you didnt complete this workout. good clean and below parallel squat.

Keep up the training and good luck in the post collegiate throwing. Maybe one day ill compete against you

  • Thanks for the kind words. Where ya from?

  • @delmole85 Central PA, but my Post collegiate career may take me to new meets around the country. Got a new coach and my distances have been going up considerably. Its amazing what a good routine and knowledgeable coaching can do lol

  • nice music

  • @PAKMAN52 What can i say? Back Street Boys pumps me up lol

  • that's not 315. if it were 315, he wouldn't have been able to bring it back down to the floor with a great deal of control and gently place it like he did.

  • You cant be serious. For one thing, I'm a professional athlete. Second, this was a warm up. Third, do you see the bar bending? Im done. Grow up

  • professional athlete? what do you play

  • @kyrom2 I'm a post collegiate weight/hammer thrower I was 8th in the country in the 35lb weight throw last season. I also run a business selling throwing equipment.

  • sjktss is gay, and one of the many haters you'll run into on youtube. If that's your warm up, much props to you.

  • Thanks man!

  • Very strong, much stronger than I am. Please buy weight lifting shoes; your feet are moving alot. Weight lifting shoes will improve the efficiency of the lift without doing the work for you (like a belt or suit might). VS athletics has them for like $70

  • Way ahead of you haha. I got some VS shoes about a year ago and they are great! I got them for $49 on sale. Thanks for the comment!

  • I love doing the front squat, but only started few months ago. i squat ATG with a 110kg 1-max. But lately i've developed few clicks in my right knee and i think is due to over training, but when i squat i have a much closer stance. Does that put more pressure on the knee? or am i suppose to stand a bit wider like on the video. Im 5.11' my knee travels the same direction as my toes and my knees never travel beyond my toes.

  • It sounds to me like you are doing it correctly. Im actually a little wide in that video. This was actually taken when i was jsut starting getitng into front squats. My balence and flexability was bad so i had to go a little wider and turn my feet out a little. That is not an ideal position though. I dont know what type of reps and weight you are trining with, so i cant really give an informed answer. If you are having problems, i would talk to a trainer or doctor if oyu could

  • how much do you weigh? i would guess 170-175lbs... thats impressive.

  • Naw lol i was about 235 at the time haha. It might be the camera angle, the guy taping was standing on a bench...

  • looking strong!

  • was people singing along to the music? :D

  • Yeah...... :( haha

  • hah, props on defending the knee issue with intelligent answers. Many people think that squating to parallel or above parallel will prevent injuries, that is far from the truth. Half squats or squats without full range of motion develop muscle in balances, poor quad to hamstring ratios in squats for example. Stopping in the middle of natural motion like a full squat stresses the ACL and eventually lead to knee injuries. I have a weightlifting coach who is 70yr old and still squat ATG no injuries

  • And I never said I pride myself in being a fitness expert dont put words in my fuckin mouth KID!

  • No need for profanity just because I made you look stupid. Im am elite level athlete. It gets annoying when every dumb ass kid out there that thinks they know something comments on my videos telling me how to lift. If you cant think of something intelligent to say about peoples videos, try not saying anything. Grow up

  • WTF could u do for me KID what succes stories do u have to back up yur expert opinions that would make me listen to yur bullshit reasons? And trust u aren't making me look like shit cuz I already noe whats right and what's wrong!

  • crazy

  • Thanks!

  • His "crazy" comment was referring to you, not me lol

  • A gud lift but therez no point going past parallel man, plus thas really bad on the knees!

  • It is actually better for your knees becasue it places the upward transition force in your glutes instead of your quads. The glutes hardly activate in a squat unless it is below parallel. People who don't squat low enough usually have knee problems (aka football players) becasue of over developement of the quads in relation to the glutes. This pulls the knee out of alignment and causes lows of problems. I had knee problems until i started squatting low. This is what fixed my knees.

  • Glutes? Are you sure that you don't mean hamstrings? I thought that hamstring underdevelopment causes knee problems?

  • I'm not sure what comment you are referring to, but you are correct whatever the case. Hamstring underdevelopment does cause knee problems but to muscle imbalance. inadequate hamstring and glute development can be a symptom of not going low enough in the squat

  • Mann that sounds gud in all but I've never heard goin past parallel helps yur knees? My dads been in the fitness bizz for over 20 yrs and still owns his own gyms not sayin he knows everything but I know goin past 90 degrees isn't gud, jus like goin past parallel on the bench doesnt do yur shoulders or rotator cuff any gud! I'd love to hear yur response back!

  • Again you are displaying your lack of understand about what we are talking about. I can describe it from a physics perspective or a physiological perspective. Since you pride yourself on being a fitness expert. Ill put it in language you can understandSheering and compressive forces do occur around the knee joint (as opposed to only sheering forces that occur in some open kinetic chain lower body exercises, such as the leg extension);

  • however, the large contact area of the patella with the femoral groove (as knee flexion increases during the full squat) helps to dissipate compressive forces. This increases stability and actually reduces stress on the knees while squatting deep. Is that good enough or should I draw you a picture now?

  • we spend 40 weeks in the fetal position (which is basically a full squat) prior to being born)... Do we come out with bad knees? Go to any eastern country like China and you will see people squatting in a well below parallel position all day while doing different tasks. These people dont develope knee problems. Why do we develope knee and back problems in this country? I is becasue of a lack of physical labor or training that builds specific strength needed to avoid injuries.

  • A dont fuckin talk to me stupid KID ima man and request from u as long as we talk u show me that respect and dont talk with smart ass remarks. Plus the things that u are speaking about sounds like something yur reading outa a article of mens fitness Im having a hard time believing that you even know what yur talking about cuz it sounds like a kinesiology course. Again using complex sentences still doesnt display yur knowledge of jack! Dont write back if yur gonna talk to me like a child!

  • you sound like an idiot

  • Look kid call it whatever makes u feel happy but if u read yur shit it soundsPlagiarized go fuck yurself! And stop reading magazines and posting shit u noe nothing about!

  • BigAD46 stop trying, you're embarrassing yourself with your lack of knowledge.

  • Mann what the hell makes u so qualifed BRAH? And I do noe what the hell Im speaking bout fuckin idiot. Damm youtube tuff guys I sware you are all lame!

  • Brah... hahaha Talk right you tard

  • hey man really good job. My question is other than actually power cleaning it, is there really any major differences between doing it the way you have it in this video or when people have there arms crossed and holding the barbell

  • if my wrists are hurtin, sometimes i will cross my arms. I only do that with low weight though. If you are doing super heavy weight it is easier to support it the way im doing it in the video in my opinion. good luck

  • Are you fuckin serious?? Holyshit..

  • Very good job, nice to see people squatting that deep

  • Thanks, I have found that if i don't go deep it tends to screw my knees up by activating the quads too much in relation to the glutes... especially on the transition to going back up...

  • how old are you? and how much you weight? and your height?? lol dont mean to be creepy , i just wana know ur stats

  • this movie was form over a year ago. I was 22 years old, 6'2. 235lbs. I have since gained a little weight and can hang clean 375 now. I catch it a ton lower though. Legit Front squat is up to 495 and 1/2 front squat 585 now.

  • kool, u compete? im only asking to get some feeback for myself, im 181, can front squat 275, and clean nd jerk around 150, back squat is 335, havent done to much hang cleans or snatches, im too scared of them lol

  • I dont compete in weight lifting. I lift to get stronger for throwing. Some of my strength has actually come from chopping wood, bailing hay and throwing hammer and discus. I could still help you out probably

  • nice clean!!

  • Thanks buddy, that was actually my first year cleaning though. I had no clue what i was doing haha. since then ive added 65lbs or so. I look at your videos, you look like you are well on your way to being a good body builder

  • Great lifts over 90 degrees, and yeah really new music haha

  • holy shit!

  • You got that right!

  • this is strong.. good shit bro

  • 315lbs yeah right... you dont dump 315 lbs like that its more like 135lbs those are the lighter rubber plates

  • Dinomagic... Do you see the bar bending you retard? Look at my other movies. Stop posting retarded comments on other peoples stuff.

  • THat is beastly! I can personally do 275 for a few reps but I can't clean that weight off the ground like you can. Good job!

  • very impressive, i wouldnt be able to pull that off with backstreet boys on.

  • are you kidding? backstreet boys was the only reason i could do it!

  • strong mofo!

  • i fucking hate front squats i always either feel like im gonna fall forward so then i lean back but then i feel like im gonna fall back and also i never feel like my back is straight enough any tips?

  • Lifting shoes would probably help you alot. I got some from VS athletics for $49 on sale. I would i would have gotten them a long time ago. They really save your knees. they allow you to sit back alot farther and be more comfortable. Aside from that, it jsut takes times and practice.

  • cool thanks

  • awesome squats man, and the black guy was rounding his back on his GMs

  • wow! farm boy strength. If I didn't know any better I would say you are from Iowa (I'm from Iowa).

  • close.... Indiana haha

  • U need a lot of butt strength to squat that low. Looks great to me.

  • Thanks, It helps to have an abnormally big ass too

  • haha is that the music they listen 2 when they lift?

  • lol at the black dude doing good mornings with the bar!

  • so whats so funny? maybe hes a beginner? maybe hes warming up and hes getting ready to put some weight on? only idiots throw on a bunch of plates to start with

  • Man thats sick....I just had a weightlifting comp for my highschool football league today, and my numbers aren't TOO bad, but my Powerclean is real low (205 lbs.) Any tips on how to drop under the weight better? That looked awesome by the way.

  • Man who teaches these young kids how to power clean? Form looks like dog shit.

  • Does it make you feel better about yourself by leaving retarded comments on people's videos?

  • I agree with you. I'd like to see urphucked properly power clean 154 (70kg) and front squat before he runs his mouth again.

  • I actually wasn't really even focused on making the clean pretty. I was just getting the weight up so I could front squat it. If i put 405lbs on there, I will worry about using some hips whatnot lol.

  • I was actually typing to the douchebag you replied to. He doesn't know the difference between a power clean and a pop tart

  • I know you were talking to him and i appreciate it haha! I was just explaining why the power clean looked "dog shitty." I think hes probably just mad thats there are littel guys out there like me that can lift heavy weights without good form lol. I gain strength be digging holes and chopping wood, not by lifting lol

  • 315lbs real ATG front squat 9times and the bar didnt even slow down.

What the fuck are these guys made of.

  • damn man that was good everything bad ass

  • Good shit man, you are beastly!

  • everybooddyyaa yea yea... (perfect workout song)

  • Please show the kid in the back how to properly do good mornings.

  • wtf is tht kid doing in the background??

  • Shitty good mornings.

  • You would have to eat about 10lbs of raw beef to get a spoonful of powder.

  • My point exactly!

  • The way i look at it is... If God wanted us to have as much creatine as they put in supplements, he would have put more of it in the food we eat every day. A big trap people fall into is the impression that they cant have success in sports or lifting without somehitng aidng them. YOU are all you need to have success. Dont waste your money on supplement unless you enjoy haivng really expensive pee lol.

  • very impressive. your ass almost touch the ground. now thats a deep squat. and on top of that u had to listen to lousy music while u hammered out those reps.

  • dude, that was awesome.

u did pretty good considering that

front squats are harder than back squats.

    nice work!

  • dude do u have any idead how strong u are? Jesus Christ...

and u got that pussy in the back going goodmornings with a barbell..

  • Thanks for the comment! There are alot of people out there that are alot stronger than me though. My advice is... If you wanna get strong, go sptil some wood and bail hay lol. Nothing makes you stronger than manual labor lol

  • or u could add some of that creatine into ur diet lol. thats what im doing right now.

Dude u actually made me wanna start doing front squats. i never really realized this but they feel better on the legs and seem easier to do with a smoother motion. The regular back squat seems like it puts work on the back...if I wanted a bigger back I would do deadlifts.

  • You are completely right about everyhtign aside from the creatine thing... You dont need creatine! my Motto is, If you cant get a specific nutrient from food then you shouldnt have it. I know people say creatine has no side effects, but i dont believe it. If it works, it has to have some sort of side effect. Iv have never so much as drank a protien shake and im up to 430 in a front squat having only lifted for 2 years. Put faith in your workouts, not supplements. Keep working hard!

  • Well u obviously have a lot of skill in lifting big so im gonna trust you. I put a shitload of faith into my lifts. I love lifting werights. Theres nothing like pushuing your limits and feeling great the next 3 4 days.

But still creatine is found in foods such as beef and fish like herring and its a natural component in your muscles. Your body contains 120 grams of creatine alone and obviously over 90% of it is in your muscles.

  • On the power clean, I would sugest you improve the triple extension, using more of your hips.

On the front squats, great depth, form and weight too.

And use some headphones.. it is scientifically proven you can´t train listening to backstreet boys.. lol

  • I know this is a dumb excuse, but I didn't really have enough weight on there to worry about cleaning correctly. I was more concerned with the front squats. Believe it or not, I had been doing cleans for less than a year when that movie was taken, so I didn't really know what i was doing at that point haha. Also, what wrong with the backstreet boys? nothing pumps you up like the backstreet boys. Don't knock it unless you've tried it! jk

  • that stance is too wide for a front squat or even a back squat, in olympic weightlifting the bar is in a high position with a narrower stance as opposed to powerlifting with low bar position and wide stance, also keep your back tight, your back rounded when u reached bottom, a belt can prevent this or just keepin your stomache tight and back

  • Trance4mation, Thanks for the comment. You are completely right on all counts. This movie is back when i was just starting to do this type of lifting, so i didnt really know what i was doing yet. I dont like to wear a belt though becasue i feel it limits how much the excercise strengthens the core. Thats just my hunch though, i dont know if it actually true. With lifting shoes, im able to keep my feet closer together as well have have a straighter posture. You do know your stuff though. Thanks

  • WRONG, your stance is supposed to be as wide as you need to keep your back arch in the bottom position. He's clearly a tall athlete, so he requires a wider stance for stability .

  • Thanks for the backup haha. I sorta confused though, did someone comment baout how far apart my legs were? I actually have lifting shoes now so im able to go a little narrower witht he stance. This viedo is pretty old haha

  • dude why the fuck is this clip headed 315x9?

do u really think that we think that you're really cleaning 315?! at least have the balls to face the camera as you're trying to bullshit half the planet!

  • BIGTECH50, people like you are the reason I love posting videos on here. Im not really sure whether people like you are easily threatened or just stupid. Why do you try to discredit what other people do? I try to inspire people and you try to cut them down. I hope you are able to sort out what ever issues you have that are causing you to lash out at people that have enjoyed success in their own lives. If you try hard enough, maybe you too could accomplish something. God Speed!

  • Clearly hasnt watched any of your other videos hahaha. I'm pretty sure 67ft in the weight throw requires 315lbs clean at least lol.

  • Thanks lol. I love when tards like him comment on things. They just look stupid to the people whose opinions i actually care about as well as the rest of youtube haha.

  • you'd be suprised ;-)

  • holy shit! great depth and form on the front squats.

  • Thanks

  • Oh man I wish I had that power and explosivness.

I'm 320 lbs. Bench 405 and only Clean and Jerk 275 lbs.

I know what I'm doind wrong I just can't fix it.

Also I squat 495 and front squat 395 all in pounds.

WHY WHY WHY WHY do my cleans suck.

I can jerk and even press a lot more than 275 but I can only bring up 275 pounds.

Hopefully someone will leave me some tips to help.

  • If it makes you feel better, i can't bench 405 and i cant press 275 haha. most people have a problem once the weight is above the knees. Dont feel like you have the yank it off the ground as fast as you cant to get the momentum to get the weight up. basicly once the weight is above the knees everyhting has to sinc up perfectly in order to get the weight up. dont jsut do like a reverse curl like the typical football player does haha.

  • Nice power and strength! The only thing I'd say is get some proper lifting shoes! It looks like your heels are on the verge of raising up off the ground on a few reps. A nice solid base on some proper shoes would do wonders for your stability :) Oh, and drop the bar at the end!!! Or let it down controlled the whole way... that looked a bit dangerous... again, props on the great power and super-fast and explosive squats. You're really getting that bar moving quickly!

  • Thanks for the comments. Ive never used lifting shoes before. The shoes i was wearing are sorta smashed on the bottom and caused me ancles to roll outwards pretty bad. Im not really much of a weight lifter so i havnet put much thought into gettting shoes or anything. Instead of lifting i do alot of manual labor (unloading trucks, throwing hay bales, chopping wood). oh yeah, they wont let us drop the bar cuz they say it breaks them. jackasses lol. thanks again and i will look into getting shoes!

  • hahaha! wow... well it sounds like "they" don't know much about lifting with bumper plates on a platform :) I work out in a commercial gym these days, so you can see how I bring the bar down in my vids if you're curious on a safer way to do it... One main problem with squishy shoes (besides ankles rolling in!!) is that each rep becomes different from every other rep due to the unpredictable reaction of the shoes... hope you find some! Manual labor rocks! keep up the awesome work and vids...

  • Thanks again, After lifting today i really feel like i need to get lifitng shoes, so i think im going to pretty soon. Take it easy

  • wow, that was some impressive shit

  • Thanks

  • Awesome job on the lift!!!

As for the music in the background... :(

  • Thanks! But whats wrong with the music? You dont like back street boys? I thought everyone lifted to back street boys...

  • nice work man...youre strong as shit!

  • Thanks
