im a big penguin fan, but i enjoy watching ovi aswell. yeah he may be a dirty player at sometimes but every team has a few, like the pens matt cooke. crosby is only still called crybaby because of his first couple years and people say he cant take any hits. but if you even watched him this past year, he has become more physical than ever and on top he has improved his scoring aswell. so the whole crybaby thing is old. ovi and crosby are both great players

I had this same argument with a Pens fan a while back. I went back and looked up attendance records starting a few years back and then back 6- years (most of the time the Caps and Pens both sucked). Caps had better attendance, Pens were at the very bottom of the league. Atlanta and Nashville had better attendance. Pens fans are bandwagon just like everywhere else.

In 09 he was pretty avg in faceoffs, so he worked on it in the off season. what does he do? he goes on to be the NHL leader in faceoffs won by over 1100 won draws over any player that played atleast 60 games last year and had a success rate of 63%, then shootouts, he was 1st in shootout goals with 8 in 10. Toews was 2nd with 8 in 14. then he says he'd improve his shot the following season, goes on to win the richard.

just think about it, OV was out for about 10gms this season so far and still came back and is leading in goals,points,and +\- and is alwasys in the top for hits.....hes a complete player, and a great Cap. he has yet to get under 40G and 40A in a single season, has scored 50+ goals in all but 1 NHL season, back to back MVP, has scored the most amazing goal ever, and 3 others that are pretty amazing, can lead his team when down no matter what the game or score, and plays with amazing passion.

Crsosby might hove his moments and streaks. but hes not better than OV by any means. yeah the kid is very good no question about it...but really, do you ever see him do the things OV does? no, he doesnt hit, he cant really take a hit, this is the only season in whihc he scores goals,he doesnt score amazing goals like OV, he doesnt play through pain like OV..OV is simply unreal hes superhuman.its crazy how he plays. and there is no one as consistant as he is or anyone who has his level of talent

great game, got a little worried when it was 4-1...what Caps fan didnt? lol but hey thats one hell of a team right there, Pens played great, got some breaks in the game....like that "slash" when cooks broke his stick...but hey the Pens didnt score so i guess it was ok, idk why but people [Pens fans] are trying to say Semin dove on that highstick in OT, i mean call it what you want, the stick hit the face clearly, and no matter how hard it is its still a penalty every time. great game

Id choose Sid over Ovie anyday. Yes Ovie is an amazing player but he's a dirty cheap player as well.

Today was a great game and the Pens just ran out of gas at the end...no excuses. The caps played a great game..!

Or how about in OT when your goaltender punched Knuble's feet out from under him from behind.(tripping no call)

Is he dirty like last year in the playoffs when one of the pens crosschecked the caps goaltender across his throat.

You only have a problem with guy's who play as physical as Ovi when they also win the hart.

When talking about which PLAYER is better the cup doesn't matter at all. It takes a team to win the cup. I don't care how good someone is they could only ever be part of a cup winning team.

If you wanna say the pens were better than the caps last year you would be right.

If you wanna say Crosby was better than Ovechkin at any point in time you would be wrong.

I dunno, I think being able to snipe spots from the top of the corner over and over takes a damn well amount skill. Ovie almost had 4 goals in this game, he had Fleury beat, but jus missed the post by probably 1 inch/ half an inch, and it woulda went off the post and in.

Ovechkin got a better/rested team around him this year and that makes a bit of a difference the way I see it but Crosby is a better player and character no doubt.

Crosby is a better passer and thats about it. He is not more skilled in any other aspect of the game and please don't give me that tired better defender arguement. Ovi's D has been solid all season. Ovi has a better wrist and slap shot. He also score's from everywhere on the ice whereas Sid relies pretty heavily on garbage goals.

I don't think you watched the same game. Crosby's goals were pure skills. Ovechkin was the one to get garbage goals. Crosby is a way better stick handler as well and has a cup to his resume. Ovechkin is hungry to try to match that though..Washington got better this year...the same thing I can't say about the Pens..

Once Malkin wakes up from his goal scoring slump the team will benefit from that and will have a chance to get another cup.

I didn't mean that he only scored garbage goals yesterday, I meant that overall the majority of his goals are rebounds right in front of the net. When I say Garbage goals I don't mean they take no skill they do. It's just OV is a more versatile goal scorer. I don't see how you think Crosby is a better stick handler. Yeah he's got good hands, but so does OV he does amazing things with the puck especially through traffic.

don't tell me you think crosby is better. crosby is sick and I luv'em, but Ovechkin is laying waste to the NHL this season. The guy has sat out a couple of games with injuries and a suspension, yet he is still leading the league in goals and points.

At this pace, Ovechkin will have the best season that any player has had since the 95-96 season when Jagr and Lemieux had 150+ points.
