People relax! They were paid to look happy in movies, they did what they were told. They were all unhappy about the nazis and the Jews, but they couldn't show it in the movies. So y'all need to shut the hell up!
Excuse my ignorance, or rather my emotional reprise..
But was this the other side of the world when thousands were being murdered by the Nazis in Europe. This freaks me out... Look how happy these people are.
A cold chill runs down my spine as I write this message.
@Desi4evah You are very right and yes, it is cruel to be this happy when, at the same time, horrible things are going on..It has always been like this - many people are suffering while others are able to enjoy their life to the fullest and show it. I guess this emotional injustice will always be there. But do not forget that movies were and are often seen very much as an escape to get away from reality..and besides, these people may look happy but I am not sure they really are.
@Desi4evah You have to understand the time period also. Americans, and most of the free world, did not know about the fate of Jews until 1942. But even if they did know, this was a movie, not reality. I'm sure they were just as concerned about American G.I.'s dying in a foreign land for the cause of freedom.

@wowoak Yeah, I see your point. It's just that I have watched so many videos, read so many short and long articles about that period, it freaks me out. Every time I watch a Holocaust documentary with dramatization, I feel blessed. As a Muslim (a non-Christian/-Jew), it just makes my eyes trickle. I see those poor people die, and I ask God... Why did that have to happen? What did those poor people do? So many beautiful, innocent women, so many handsome, young men... and then the babies! :( :(
@wowoak I feel I have a social responsibility of spreading love and tolerance. I feel we all should just join hands, even the Nazis, and ask for each others' forgiveness, and pray to God, and serve Him, and the people.. I feel we can make a better tomorrow. Our children can be our future mentors, when we grow old and senile..
I am sorry if I am being overly emotional. But it pains my heart. :(
@Desi4evah Being a Muslim, are you aware that the Koran is filled with anti-Semitic verses? Mohammed himself committed hundreds of murders against Jews. Jews and Christians were forced by Muslim leaders to wear unique badges more than a 1,000 years before Hitler did so. It sounds as though you have great love in your heart for the human race! Please reconsider your devotion to the Muslim faith, it cannot be made moderate or tolerant.
@wowoak I am not here to discuss my faith with you. So you can go ahead and research on your own. Research as you please. To hate, or to love, is your prerogative. I just said what I felt. If my views as a Muslim couldn't clear your misconceptions about my mentality and my faith, I don't know what else will.
But as I said, I am not here to discuss my faith. I just felt bad for those people. And no, thanks for your advice. I am not interested in converting to any other faith here. :)
@Desi4evah As I recall, you brought up your faith to begin with (which I thought was odd also since this video is about Rita Hayworth). It just struck me funny that you would bring up the fact that you are a Muslim but yet have so much heartbreak for the Jews who were murdered. Just keeping it real (in love by the way :)
@wowoak Yeah, I am a human being after all. :) We are all people, and I get emotional sometimes. I have read so much about those people, it kinda hurts.
Regarding this video, I was only comparing the two sides of the world. My own imagination... :)
@Desi4evah There hasn't been a time in this world when there weren't horrible things going on. Is everyone supposed to be unhappy because there is a war going on in the world? That would mean everyone would be unhappy all the time. Think about it. It's just a movie.
@Skibone21 Think what? We are not talking about war between Israelis and Palestinians, or America and Iraq, for that matter. We are talking about the Entire Europe burning and people fleeing left and right to save their lives.
@Desi4evah There were people in the U.S. burning and fleeing for the 75 yrs prior. I didn't lives stopping in order to save them. So just because times are bad for others means you can't smile and have fun with all the trouble around you? That makes absolutely no sense.
Ist sie nicht hübsch? I like this little film quite much! I only wished she had more dance numbers in it. By the way, Rita's co-stars, Tony Martin and Edith Fellows, are still alive.
hübsch ist untertrieben :D. yeah i think it's not SUCH a good film, but it's kind of cute, and Rita is so good in it..i wish she had more dance numbers too! and yeah i only today found out they were still alive :)..i envy those people who worked with her..i want to meet them all and hear rita stories from them :D
