  • AWESOME!=]

  • lool the way he emphasizes death is funny

  • Great tutorial thank you

  • That clicking is so annoying.

  • that was really weak... I mean this technique doesn't seems to give any dramatically valuable result. Maybe if you've tried harder and select samples and envelope settings more carefully?

  • lol i cant play the samples in my simpler... am i that stupid or wtf :(

  • @gosuyun You need the full version of ableton to do this

  • @idealreelz i have the complete suite version of live cause i bought it

  • Wow THIS VIDEO its AMAZING THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO... Keep it UP!!!

  • @wiretotheear great tutorial! Thank you for sharing this! By the way you don't need the compressor to increase the volume of the samples. By default when you insert a sample in a simpler the volume is -12. You can change that by going to the simpler, search for "Volume" input/knob and change it :) Cheers mate!

  • @wiretotheear: you'd be faster creating each simpler by First creating one, adding the sample, grouping the simpler, then click the "chain" and duplicate the CHAIN as many times as you wish...

  • This voice recording is from book of Revelation :)

  • great tutorial a little faster way to get past the loading and editing of the sample in each simpler is to drag your audio sample into an audio track, right click it and select "slice to new midi track" from there you select your cut rate (1/4,1/8 etc.) and instrument you would like to use such as the sampler or drum rack. it will cut up your sample and lay it out on your keys.from here create your group and duplicate your instrument and proceed with the tutorial this kind sir has provided.

  • @MSNGR415 if i recall correctly, this is a live 8 feature...

  • @peterkleinlich yeah it's a feature in live 8. was this an earlier version? either way good tutorial.

  • you shouldn't use a compressor to "make things louder" cause it change the dynamics. Just boost it with a utility or the volume control on the sampler/simpler.

    otherwise nice beginners tutorial.

  • @grosslyfatfrommaccas ....... fat shit

  • Very excellent!

  • Awesome!

  • he sounds like the bob ross of music production!

keep up the good work, mate :)

  • Ha Ha yea mate Freesound! Wicked site! I've used that vocal sample as well.

  • whats up with this guys voice?

  • i dont want voice manipulation all that shits easy, i want no how do good vocoding and autotunin. tutorials n techniques if any1 knows of any. like the proper stuff in the charts or even somethin like the harder better faster stronger vocals. i can kind of do it i jus want improve n thats wat its all about

  • @ghostom998 ...Dude, "i dont want voice manipulation all that shits easy, i want no how do good vocoding and autotunin."

I'd suggest becoming familiar with spell check before attempting to use a vocoder.

    Good luck!

  • @grosslyfatfrommaccas erm . . thanks?

  • @grosslyfatfrommaccas Plus 1 may I add If you want to learn that find that video why are you leaving a comment? Find a vocoder video or an autotunes video then. Both pretty easy things to do this is not as well known.

  • @grosslyfatfrommaccas hahahaha

  • @grosslyfatfrommaccas Pointing out someone's spelling mistake is a true sign you have nothing to say for yourself :/

  • Feel pretty stupid asking this but how do you make your simpler play the sample??? It just plays for him in the video without him clicking anything.

    Help Appreciated.................

  • @10908070605040302 He mentions in the video that he is triggering the samples using a MIDI Controller :)

  • wait i finally got how to make a polygonal line not drawing lol doubleclickinggggg for pointssssss

  • Great :) Thanks for the tutorial

  • This is great. It gave me a ton load of inspiration.

  • no shit....so I'm checking out Ableton videos and I hear this is Oliver Chesler...dude, this is a really small world. Nice vid

  • This helped me lots, thanks!

  • That was really cool. Thanks the the motivation!

  • Nice

  • Dj SkinHead!!!!!!

  • what about how the sample speed up the higher you placed it on the keyboard? Can you make it so it sounds constant to how it originally was?

  • i've tried transposing the sounds(-1 semitone), it works..

  • guys.. i cant play my wav file inside the simpler... i dont know what is the problem yet. Can you help???

  • Me to...

    Space bar do not work...

How do we play the wav inside the simpler ?

  • To people having problems previewing samples in simpler:

Try transposing the sound clip in simpler. By default it's set to zero, which may be too low for certain samples - if it's something you've sampled yourself this is especially true. Sometimes it takes quite a lot of shifting to hear the clip correctly but just play with it until you can hear it right.

Just figured that out last night and figured I could save other people the trouble. Ace vid by the way.

  • I've been having that problem to, I don't think you can preview the file like that from inside the simpler

  • listen to the words in 4:17, that should solve your problem...

  • excellent tutorial, i learnt a lot from that one cheers :-)

  • coole sache, danke für den tip

  • Oliver Chesler? As in THE Horrorist? On YouTube??

    How freakin' cool is that!!

Can you please, I mean I BEG you to begin your every tutorial from now on with "Hello, my name is Oliver, and I'm gonna tell you a story..." in the same voice as you-know-which-track ;P

    Nice & clear tutorial btw.

  • indeed
