    Retro

  • What's even more scary is there are still some Pizza Huts that still occupy the same style buildings as shown at 0:38.

Omly with the red paint jobs they got in the 70's.

  • like if you see thats converse in the 0:29..XDDD

  • wtf did they put the box of pizza in a bag?

  • @xLITETROOPER It was done that way so you could just tar in to it and they thout opening a box was boring was it was a rip open bag.

  • do they still make that pizza?

  • ahh the good 'ol days 25 years before I was born!!

  • why don't companies use there old commercials and slogans Like Wendy's,"WHERE'S THE BEEF?" or "Ford, has a better idea"

  • In short words; Love...............it!!!!!

  • tampoco no sabia que se debia llamar por telefono para pedir la comida..u.u

  • pero ese carrito Mustang JR me encanto...lo kiero...XD

  • simplemente...me dio algo de miedo.....=(...

  • What the hell did I just watch?

  • from 0:51 forward it sounds like "el manisero" aka "the peanut vendor."

  • retarded

  • This is the Best Video that i by Youtube see.

    Good Bye !!!!

  • Pizza Hut : Now made with real cheese

Me : ಠ_ಠ then what the fuck was it made with before?

  • Reminds me of the ending of the Benny Hill Show when everyone ended up chasing him at high speed.....

  • Man, that's like a totally different restaurant now.... That looked like a Tony's store pizza and it came in a bag.

  • Pizza Hut has the best bag of pizza on the east coast.

  • Television at it's finest in the 50s-60s. :D

  • was pizza hut good in the 60s i love the 60s/70s logo and love the way the resturant looks and the 80s/90s logo is cool to

  • also, side note the little car was even used in promotional bits in TV shows like Bewitched!

  • @bucky468 i totally agree

  • This music is just funky. Cosmic, man!!

  • At 0:03, he gave a hand signal even though he was on the phone.

  • This was filmed in Wichita and that is the old Pizza Hut on Kellogg Ave, the first one built. The building is still there, I believe. It's a local landmark.

  • Man, the 1960s must've been great!

  • @ShapelyDice

Yeah, too bad I was born on 1996 :\

  • @ShapelyDice This was the 50's I think.

  • @bucky468 Well, since the title specifically says 1965, I figured it was the 1960s.

  • @ShapelyDice Yeah. I just noticed that in the title. My bad.

  • pizza hut is SHIT here pizza with no flavor, raw dough, no spice what so ever, only one option of cheese and very limited veggie toppings. worst 10 dollars i ever spent in my life. tho for some reasom came out to 18$ and im gona complain to those peices of shits

  • @brunettebarbie54 Actually, back then Pizza Hut wasn't half bad. It started to go down the toilet in the late 70s.

  • @rayjr62 How so did PH go down the toilet in the late 70's? I was born in the 70's.

  • Comment removed

  • @rayjr62 Skimp? I don't understand? Could you shed a little more light on that?

  • Reminds me of a Benny Hill chase scene.

  • WOW.

    I want that car. -.-

    this video sis creepy.

  • why the fuck is this mono and only in the left channel?

  • @Evanmileus In 1965 stereophonic sound was still more or less in an experimental stage. Virtually everything (TV, Radio, Music, etc. . . ) was recorded in mono. All television sets on the market back then had only 1 speaker (it was usually located to the right of the video tube). People listened to everything on TV in mono, so I doubt that this commercial's audio was recorded in stereo.

  • where do people get old commercials from

  • @Astronautical123 old tapes, maybe?

  • Lol "Putt Putt, to the Pizza Hut", that's so cute!

  • Oh man, the heck with a Smart Car, i want that Mini Mustang! LOL =) I bet the gas mileage on that Mustang is 200+ mpg! LOL :) Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! Let's see a Smart Car beat the gas mileage on that Mustang, he he.

  • do they still make the car?

  • @Zoras88 not since the 70s but a lot of the parts are still available to recreate one including the bodies and frames

  • I think they should bring the tear open bags back. It would be cool to tear into the package if you were really hungry....

  • the pizza was soooo good back then they improved themself to death

  • Weird

  • i think i was born in the wrong generation D:

  • Very cool commercial.

    Thanks for sharing it.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • wow no pizza box? That's interesting 0_0

  • OUT OF SYNC >:(

  • ummmm wtf they put pizza's in a bag?

  • They came in bags? Pizza in bags? Truly we have come far

  • It's all like "hey, that asshole hurt is with his freakishly small car let's get him" >:( then when he exits pizza hut it's all "hey that guy has a pizza let's get him" :D this commerial is an EPIC WIN

  • @hornymaneee Wel done for compiling a script, dumbass.

  • LOL,wow that sure is vintage, and funny to watch. Thanks for placing that up.

  • VOLKSWAGEN BUS YEAH!!!!!

  • JESUS, did he just rear end the godfather!

  • Great Commercial

  • One slice each? I always order a XLarge just for myself, while my family sits in the corner of the kitchen waiting for the scraps of crust I leave behind. You should see them fight over the crusts, it's a calamity. XD

  • What's the name of the Music, i like it! and the ad too.

  • Why was this not a retromercial on TV Land? LMAO!!

  • did the put cocaine in the pizza back then?

  • That's funny... In a weird way.

  • LOL!

    I like it.

  • It's been a hard day's night...

  • I like all the old classic cars on it

  • one hell of a funny and extraordinary commercial

    i love it

  • puff puff give me a pizza hut! puff puff!!

  • @desgranador Haha, they're actually saying "Putt putt to the Pizza Hut! Putt putt." A putt putt is a small motorized vehicle, like that one the guy was driving.

  • dont mean to change the subject but, from looking at this, when was the first chinese carryout open.lol..jus thinking

  • I wish I had that car.

  • What's the adress of the Pizza Hut?

  • A nice soundtrack for this would be a Beatles song... just that vibe

  • Comment removed

  • He was going to college in Salina KS at Kansas Wesleyan University 90 miles away at the time the commercial was shot and would have been 20 at the time. When he was killing people he lived at 6220 N Independence St 10.53 miles from this location slightly more than 1 block away.

  • @roadkillontheweb Who was killing people ? I don't get the information you wrote, could you explain it, please. Thanks

  • Someone was trying to say that the BTK killer was 1-block away from where this was filmed and may have been an extra in the commercial. He was not!

  • weird commercials those days

  • Poor guy didn't get any pizza

  • that pizza looked fucking gross

  • oldest comercial evar?

  • @benry200 not by a long shot. try the early 40's

  • Wtf who made that car fisher price ?!

  • Pizza Hut is awesome to eat, but it sucks ass to work there, at least as a cook.

  • Is it me or could he use some "Help" in escaping? Oh I don't know, who in 1965 was known for their running and jumping from excited crowds?

  • I love it - What a great PR thing for mystic - why didn't htey capitalize on it? The only thing I can figure is they didn't take Mr. Ford's advice and build an inexpensive car for the masses.

  • the pizza hut on the corner at rock and kellogg back in 1965? did they demolished it and new one up the street on kellogg?ain't that a long john silver in the lot where the former pizza hut?

  • The house at the beginning and end of the commercial is located at 5824 Avalon, which is 1 block South of Central Avenue and East of Edgemoor. The current owners of the house are familiar with the place in history their place holds. Check out how much the trees in the front yard have grown on Google earth

  • @roadkillontheweb What's the exact address of the house in the video?

  • 5824 Avalon, Wichita KS

  • @roadkillontheweb Those people sure ran like crazy. But how were they ever going to cross over the highway? (IMPOSSIBLE, THEY DON'T) April fools. Anyway, I LOVE Pizza Hut so much that I love the cheese there.

  • @roadkillontheweb Wow, they own a piece of Beatles history! You can still see a sign just like the one here in Leesburg!

  • @roadkillontheweb damn that tree is way bigger the house looks alot shittier too

  • What a classic TV ad? haha gotta love it

  • dang they packaged pizzas in style back in the day

  • I want that little car!!!

  • I would look SO fly in that car! LOL.

  • Huts !

  • What a trip!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Watching this reminds me of those hilarious Benny Hill chase scenes- just play "Yakkety Sax", and it'd be perfect.

  • So where can I get a motorized mini car?

  • Umm,, make sure commercials like that never exsist ever again :}

  • i used to work at pizza hut in high school lol

  • mmmm cold war pizza!

  • this is cool i read about but never seen it very funny!!!!

  • Good commercial!

  • Scary, How simple old commercials are.

  • Scariest commercial ever

  • I want a car like that :o

  • be sure and check my new video of a brand new Mustang JR body made from the same molds that made the car in this video.

  • Pizza hut sure has changed from what it used to be. It looked like the pizza was wrapped in paper rather than in a box. Working for pizza hut now, I am slightly more proud of the establishment :)

  • Yuck! Pizza Hut pizza looks like it was NASTY even back then.

  • Why were so many guys chasing the driver?

  • get high, make an order, hot and good food right to your door

  • My goodness! Now I'm hungry...I LOVE PIZZA!!!!

  • stupid comercial ever

  • so thats how they attract their customers...

  • This commercial is funny, and that pizza looks good!! :p

  • @ardalsgirl - I seem to recall Pizza Hut pizza being much tastier before they mostly became a pizza delivery business. Still edible, but I FAR prefer real pizzeria pizza to any of the big delivery places.

  • @xnonsuchx Yeah my mom told me that Pizza Hut used to taste better. I like the way Pizza Hut tastes and all the other big belivery one's too but I do like the pizzeria style better as well.

  • @xnonsuchx DiGiornio's the best non-delivery pizza. YUM!!!

  • I sure someone has mentioned this already, but from this sprang Benny Hill

  • Comment removed

  • Hey I found out this advert was based of Benny hill. So disregard my last comment.

  • He had two pizzas, why didn't he just eat the other one instead of going back to Pizza Hut?

  • @OllieAverage Because repetition increases retention.

  • @Tubernaut This town is a part of us all. A part of us all. A part of us all.

  • @OllieAverage This is a job for the department of redundancy department.

  • @OllieAverage obviously he's a man with issues. i mean you saw what he drove right? lolol

  • @acedaface954 You do raise quite a valid point

  • @OllieAverage beecoz he dident fink ov that

  • I agree with whataburgerfan1 about Pizza Hut. I had a pizza from Pizza Hut about 2 weeks ago and it was not like it used to be. It only looked like Pizza. I would only go to a privately owned pizza place to get "ok" pizza nowadays.

  • Pizza Hut pizza isn't edible anymore with the way it's made now. It used to be my favorite pizza chain back in the 80s, now I'd rather eat wallaby vomit. The moral to the story: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

  • @whataburgerfan1 That slogan at the end doesn't fit business. If they kept it the same, they would have lost to other pizza companies. They have to stay ahead of their competition.

  • @AaroncSmall Pizza Hut's worst campaign slogan was "hit the Hut for lunch" back in the arly 90's. PH lost a lot of business & money b/c of that debacle. Some PH restaurants closed b/c of that weak slogan.

  • This is some scrawny-ass looking pizza. Makes you want to call the nervous hospital after watching. Put-put- Pizza-Hut? Yeesh.

  • Mustang JR promotional car!

I had one of those, but it was called a Toyota Celica :).

  • Silly commercial, good pizza.

  • why don't they use that button logo anymore?

  • lol spooky

  • putt putt! to the pizza huuut! putt putt! to the pizza huuut!

  • How did you find this?

  • So, pizza in a BAG?

  • I know, whos idea was that!?!?!?

  • That was before they had pizza boxes. It was a pizza on a cardboard with wrapping around it. The wrapping was sort of like the stuff you sit on in the doctor's office.

  • @TheT4xid3rmist Little Caesar's did that for many yrs before they went to cardboard pizza boxes. Remember the "Pizza Pizza" 2 for the price of one campaign in the 80's?

  • @davesecx Yea the cardboard box was still a few years later.

  • ogórek haha :P

  • Where did they both get their Pizza Hut buttons? I don't get it

  • that is a bus.....

  • thats a vw

  • yes... a vw bus. just sold my 1967 vw bus for $23,500.00, a little bit more than original cost.

  • Staggering what some of the going prices are today, isn't it, oscar?

Our favorite thing to do, when the whole gangs together, is to buy a handful of Classic Auto Traders and gasp over what the, in their day very reasonable (Especially used), cars that we had are now going for.

  • I love this! I had never seen it. Yes, Kiddies, Pizza Hut has been around since 'the dark ages', the 1960's...

  • Man talk about Old lol

  • thats great

  • Norman McLaren directed the first Pizza Hut commericals!

  • Actually it was Bob Walterscheid. search the internet for pizza hut commercial background and you will find a lot more information on this commercial from him on the jrcentral forums

  • @roadkillontheweb Went to school with his son Alec Walterscheid. He did or does advertising in the Wichita, Ks area still. Trivia I guess.

  • I forgot about Pizza Hut icon shown at the end. Thanks for posting.

  • Yohohohoho, Putt putt, to the pizza hut :D:D:D!

I want a car like that one too! X'3

  • it look like fun n its make me hungry too hahahaha
