  • Where did you get the air intake? how much?

    Thanks

  • @91polarisindy500 got it off ebay, like around 25 or 30 bucks i think

  • i had a 1997 ford escort 2.0 4 door, and that thing went 310,000 kilo. before the engine had anything happen to it. one thing i know about the escorts is the engine is dead reliable, and it never dies. one thing about them though that i know of is the shocks, coils, struts seems to go very fast, depending obviously. it my experiece the electrical is amazing, but watch out for the a/c. i know that gives out. but other than that amazing vehicle i swear by those.

  • @challengerheavy yea i had a 93 wagon auto, after 150xxx miles the tranny crapped out, my dad gave it to me, i put a tranny in it, and beat the shit out of it for almost a year, i ended up totalling it, but it still started up and ran good

  • @Mikeyssss haha wow thats crazy, and it still started up lol, thats an escort for ya friggen awesome.what kinda car you got now? im actually about to purchase another 1998 ford escort 2 door zx2-150,000 kilo's certified red. for under 2000$, what do you think about that deal?

  • @challengerheavy 150,000 kilometers thats pretty low mileage, sounds good, i got an 03 monte carlo right now, i like her shes been real good to me, had her almost 3yrs now

  • @Mikeyssss thats friggen awesome montecarlos are awesome really fast and feel like a real drivers car. is it fully loaded or?. how much is your insurance a month?

  • @challengerheavy yea its got a lot of torque and handles great, real comfortable too, its an ls so its got power locks, windows, mirrors, remote trunk/locks/alarm, dual airbags, abs, t/c, and a kickass stock system, with an amp, ive bumped the shit out of it since i got it, and sounds the same as the day i picked it up, insurance wise i live in mass, so i started with $400 a month cuz of the loan, but after 3 yrs of driving, and a diff company, im only paying like 180 a month

  • Was the clutch hard to do i think mine might need a new one soon.

  • @schroom766 well im not sure, cuz i brought it to a shop cuz my dad didnt wanna help me with it, but i did one in a escort wagon wit the 1.9 but it was auto, kinda a bitch but wasnt that bad, this, not to sure, it might be not that bad, is urs slipping?

  • Same exact thing happened to mine, but the timing belt pulley let go before 100,000. New pulley assembly costs about $130. Job was pretty easy.

  • if the timing belt goes out does tht mean you got to buy a new motor

  • @lilslimon24s only if the valves are bent, but not all the time the valves bend

  • @Mikeyssss Valves on a ford 2.0 vct cant hit the pistons, it is not possible. The valves would be fine, the car might run poorly, and not fire correctly, but the internals should be fine. The timing belt should be replaced at about 100,000 miles.

  • @congage yea thats what i thought, cuz ive heard a lot of people say its an interference engine and bend the valves, but on a few forums they said that its a non interference engine and should be fine, but yea 100,000 sounds about right. i think this one was original, had almost 200,000 miles on it

  • @lilslimon24s no you just fix the timing. if you dont know how save some money and take it to a shop.

  • Come on man, junk it... It worth scrap metal if that..

  • @camarodave1967 yea i actually did, not too long after this vid, i had to move, and didnt have enough space for it, if i did, idk id prolly tinker with it, and maybe sold it

  • @camarodave1967 NO ZX-2 IS SCRAP, ITS NOT SOME POS CIVIC.

  • I wonder if that engine is the same as zetecs in UK?

  • @tpvalley hmm im not sure ill have to check into that

  • @Mikeyssss

    why invest $1700 in a $700 car?

better to just buy a better car?

  • @tpvalley yea well if i would fixed it when it first happened it woulda only cost around $100, but then it sat and the fuel pump kicked the bucket, if i had room i woulda fixed it and sold it, woulda lost money, but didnt have the space or time,

  • @Mikeyssss

    evidently they r the same.

over here people fit individual throttle bodies and trumpets, u can get mega power and good driveability too.

  • @tpvalley thats good, i liked the car it was pretty sporty and kinda quick for the high miles too

  • @Mikeyssss

yes they r fast even as standard, Ive seen a few with turbos aswell getting well into 300bhp+.

  • @tpvalley yep there the same

  • Great car for its time, very quick did you get it running right yet?

  • @JohnFromSpace sadly i had to junk it, cuz i had to move and had no where to put it, and not enough time to fix it, im still kicking myself for not fixing it though, all it needed was a fuel pump and timing belt and kit, but i liked it, had a lot of pep for the miles, and looked sporty for an escort, i really enjoyed it

  • my escort has 211,000 miles now

  • @mustang50dominates damn yea there good little cars, i had a 93 wagon that had over 160,000 and always started up and ran great all the time.

  • Theres a escort in my area with 82k miles and he wants 3700. its a 5 speed zx2.

  • @SuperchargedStyle as long as theres literally nothing wrong with it sounds like a deal i only paid 700 for this one, but needed some work, but i gotta say for a ford there decent cars, i really enjoyed mine

  • I'm looking at buying an '02 escort zx2 for 2800 bucks, its auto and has 106,000 miles. Does this sound like a good deal to you?

  • hmmm make sure you test drive it, but it does seem like a deal, but you should try to talk him down to like maybe 2200, but overall escorts are really good cars, specially for commuting or traveling to work

  • @hotwad88 nope.

  • @hotwad88 if i were u i wouldnt pay over 1,000 for a escort zx2 ..my friend paid that much for one...and he hates it

  • yea you should keep it its a good car....i also have a full body kit but recently the front bumper got halfway ripped off of it and put a dent and big long scratches in the driver side finder so now im just going to re do the body and paint when i get the income to do it.....all of my friends under estimated my ride in till i let them test it out for them selves now they like i love this car lol

  • i have the same intake in my zx2 i also have headers(forgot the name of them) full piping done and racing wiring....i raced a integra the other day it was pretty nice but i lefted it lol

  • nice, ive been tinkering with it here and there, i found out about a couple weeks ago that the fuckin fuel pump kicked, so now i gotta fix that, i wanted to sell it, but i kinda like it, so i might keep it for a back up car

  • Ive never seen one with over 150,000 miles before

  • yea it runs pretty good for the miles, they just never thought of changing the timing belt, i had a 93 escort wagon with almost 160000, and it still ran great, and still had balls too.

  • basically i want to get the timing belt in it, and get it running, it died last july around the 10th, so i might sell it, or keep it for a back up car.

  • what are your plans for it?
