MGS4 - Laughing octopus/Beauty -Non lethal -The boss extreme

may I ask what the difference between lethet and non- lethal boss killing? do you get anything special about it?

@alimagno619 As far as I know, with an non-lethal takedown of the these bosses, you can register their face into your camo. Was going to try it later on today for the sake of it, but that's een what I've heard.

@XXiGALEslasher yeah, found out that doing non-lethat gives you their face camo, a change to get their doll,done to unlock weapons and other camo, and for some achievement

they say you can use lethal weapons on the beats forms i'm not sure if thats true or not though. i used a lethal weapon on the beast form and at the end i got 1 kill stat not sure if that was from the beast or it was from a guy that got in a way during the gekko chase scene th epart after you ride away from the power suits.

I have now completed the 2nd Act and it stills says 1 kill. I remember now that I laughed when I tranqu'ed a guy going up a ladder in the very first daylight part. So that guy is my only kill. I will have to go back and do it from there. That part isn't too hard, but now I know to avoid shooting someone on a ladder, much like the wall hanging frogs.

Nope, the frogs are exceptions to that, you can tranq them and when they fall they wont count as a kill =D

Well in the run I tranqu'ed her when she disguised herself as a trooper, but I do remember a few of the ones I knocked out and walked over - vapourised. So I think her bombs got them. Then there was one PMC while I was on the turret gun of the Drebin tank who got into my line of fire on top of the tank. I shot him but like once so I dunno if he died too, but the stats said I killed 2 so I gotta go back and do laughing octopus again.

FYI to regenerate health quickly in any mode especially BBE, use ipod song Sailor by Starr.K - its pretty damn quick and not a bad song either.

u kno---letting the haven trooper bodies get blown up by those floating orbs €Octopus drops when she unleashed smoke counts as a kill. It's crazy, but you gotta keep those bodies safe or they count as YOUR kill.

This is the only time this rule applies

OMG!!! I have been searching for confirmation of that. Thanks a lot ONYX. I'm in the middle of my BBE run and got to the end of Act 2 with 2 kills - I wondered how the hell. I did shoot a guy on while on the tank but thought he might have got back up, but yeah I read somewhere that if you kill a gekko during that fight Octopus will disguise herself as one of them. Guess I have to go back and keep those bodies safe. Cheers once again Onyx

Octopus turns into a KO'd haven trooper towards the end of the fight. It doesn't mean you killed one by accident. It's just always something she will do once.

For the orbs, The best course of action is to use your solid eye--and as soon as the fog comes out, run to the spot she disappeared from. Let ALL 5 orbs (there are 5 in BBE) attach to you, then jump into a hallway, away from any door openings. They'll blow up in the hall, and the troopers will be safe

on boss extreme it took me 1.5 hours just to get through act 1 using non lethal only ..

Run through everything and tranq everything, makes sure you have all your ammo maxed when you start Extreme.

On my first Extreme playthrough i was at 57 minutes at Laughing Octopus.

i think you did quite well with the video and the quality is good enough to see fine with what your doing so dont worry about that to much. personally i would never use the solar gun but i just prefer to make it a little more of a challenge :D anyways good vid

ive completed it 3 times. Once on normal and twice on the boss extreme. And the second time i completed it on the bss extreme i got th big boss emblem!

@misledlestat yes you will get the opportunity to get your weapons back when you first encounter Metal Gear Mk. II - the little robot thing.
