  • that would make an awesome muscle car with plenty of time & money.but u would get shitloads of respect for restoring it.

  • my dream car. 71/72 AMX. had them all. but what i still got is my white 1973 Trans Am with a 455. I think people who love second gen Firebirds also love the Javelins. To this day I could not say with certainty What car I owned was faster. My 1972 AMX with a 401 or my 1973 455 T/A. They both remelted ruff blacktop into a shiny new surface.

  • buy it, fix it up and post sum video of it. for the love of god man buy it.lol

  • Definately a '72 model...I wish I had it...I could use some of the parts for my '71...lol

  • take it home with you you got the find of your life ahah

  • Looks like what you have there is either a '71 or a '72. Not quite sure. But heads up those plastic grilles (which that ones missing) can cost you... WAY MORE THAN IT SHOULD. Nice car though I have one myself. Same exact color.

  • I have one of these, had it since 1978.

  • What an awesome car. I would love to get my hands on one. I am rebuilding a 79 Firebird and completely understand the joy of having a muscle care. Good luck, and post something when you're done!

  • I think what you have there, my friend, is a whole bunch of Javelin parts, but if you want to put the money into fixing it, more power to ya. Would love to see another video on YouTube after you restore it. I love AMC, the little car maker that could.

  • are you going to fix it???

  • Javelins are awesome! I have a 1971 basic Javelin but I used to have a '72 SST.I wish I had this one in the video.I could use parts off of it!

  • oh crap, forgot to mension that my car IS an sst javelin with a v8 that takes leaded gas not unleaded. not sure what kind of v8 it is though.

  • holy shit, what a cowisidence i have a 1972 javelin with 93,000 miles in my driveway lol. been parked for 8 years. started it right up yesterday, and found out that only 4 spark plugs were fowled out

  • i would be funny if there was a dead body in it

  • I love these cars. It sounds like you talked the owner into selling. That's great! I can't tell you how many cars like this we find that the owners had rather let sit and rot away than sell them to someone willing to save them. :(

  • I spoke to the owner and here's the deal.

Had it through highschool , got lots of girls and won some races. Rebuilt the engine and drove it for another few years till he got a Trans Am and started to restore this car. Drove it where it sits 3 years ago and started disassembly for bodywork and stripping for paint and there it ended. Solid and not rusty, it was covered till late last year. He said it ran strong, no smoke and no problems.

I will be buying it shortly and putting it back together.

  • awesome glad to hear! whats the motor?

  • @PAINTANK awesome keep us updated on it if you can i love amc its so different

  • haha " gotta love an old muslce car" you bet man took me 4 years to get ahold of my now purple i forget the color its wild though SST Javelin came with a white vynil T-roof black buckets and a shackel and traction bars someone musta loved it before me but they neglected it like this one but not as bad, you gonna snap this one up?

  • Sweet!

    5/5

  • nice my dad bought one about 3 years ago and we just got it painted it looks great now. idk y they would leave it out there like that.

  • find the owner, make it yours!

  • You're telling me that some clown just left it unlocked?

  • It sits behind the owners sisters place. They own the land so I guess they feel it's safe. You should see the barn full of 1st gen Firebirds next door to it.
