thank god dre didn't use this reference track for 2001. This song is more lyrical than any of the tracks that were on 2001. And if Dre did, the listener would so tell it's not him. I don't even see Dre saying half the things Royce wrote :( Hot Track regardless!
@MrCurbstomped ur an idiot, royce was supposed to b on renegade, they dropped him from the song and put jayz in there..listen to both verisons completely diff verses no ghostwriting on that song
Well, acoustic quality aside, this is lyrically better than MOST ANYTHING I've EVER heard from Dr. Dre. 2001 was obviously a classic, but a mastered version of "The Throne Is Mine" would've fit right in, IMO.
@arex82 I don't know why everyone likes Jay-Z. All the songs i've heard from him suck, he can't ryme and has no flow. So is there something im missing, is there actually a good song he has done?
@FuryOfTheBane His old shit was good man, he sold out since, but I still bump his old shit like Brooklyns Finest n shit :) - stuff from when he rolled with Biggie (R.I.P) is when he stuff was good :)
You're WILIN', this track is tight, but I prefer Royce rapping over Dr. Dre, especially nowadays (back in the early 90's it was relatively more entertaining).

Wow you can't be serious.

@KoldShadow Very serious. It sounds unfinished and shitty. Definitely not on par with anything on 2001, even ackrite, my least favorite.

Dre does have ghostwriters, but he still does write his own stuff still, but he needs to do it all.....but he is a great producer no doubt.

watch?v=w5srnNrICJo - Song Cry
watch?v=7nlOeqEIHXY - Dirt Off Your Shoulder
