Also in Season 2 where Jack was fighting this one guy that resulted in one of Jack's best kill near the end of the season. Seeing the cameraman is pretty common in 24. Even more so when a widescreen tv episode was not made yet.
I cant remember which series of 24 it was but you get a full view of a crew guy leaning down next to Jack in a shootout at a harbour or something like that, I think the editing guys need to find a new job!
We just watched the re-run of '24: Redemption' and the editors have "fixed" the problem. They tightened the shot on Jack's face, but if you look closely, you can STILL see a black arm come into frame for a second!
Some might assume that this "slip-up" was intentional; presumably added with the intent of stirring up dialogue about the show; it would gain a lot of notoriety, as it is on YouTube right now for example. I could easily believe that, considering that the producers and crew at Fox wouldn't just miss something quite so obvious, nor would anybody with a pair of eyes. That being said, I love the show and this slip-up entertained me for quite some time.
The DVD version was released two days after it aired on TV (since it's technically separate from any season, and just a prequel to the seventh season), which kind of surprises me because if they were able to take it out of the DVD, that means they had caught it long before they aired it.
That is the most pathetic continuity error I have ever seen. That would have taken 30 seconds in the editing room to cut or crop out. Lazy, blind or stupid? You be the judge. And trust me cyjetsu, it's not a reporter/journalist.
Maybe its a crazy person... you know crazy people hang out in jungles all the time. You will know I am right when that person becomes part of the story later. Just kidding. I was wrong. I think they should have edited it out. Should have the editor fired.

I have not watched it yet. Could they not have been reporters? There are always journalists in africa taking pictures of kids being blown up etc. So is it not possible they were characters?
I will have to watch the whole movie then decide if I think it actually was a mistake.
If indeed it was a mistake I expect some editor guy would be worrying about his job right about now.
I shall just presume they are reporeter characters when I watch and not let it ruin the movie for me. 3 seconds....
That is not correct. It would be totally irrelevant if they were just standing there, acting reporters that come up from nowhere?! If 24 would have wanted to charactarize them as reporters they would have done something more concrete then just putting two of them in the jungle! And how do you explain the movie-camera "reporter" is carrying a HD-film making camera? Think next time.
You are right. After watching the actual movie it is obvious it is a mistake. When I had not watched the full movie, I did not want to make any assumptions so I offered another possible explanation.
I don't know what a HD camera looks like. But I will take your word for it.
He's right, thats a ninja. There's no way he could be seen back in the days. He's only visible on because of youtube's sensors.

There was also a scene in S1 just after Nina was shot and she entered the warehouse. There was a camera man in full view.

it only appears in the widescreen version so it could be possible that they edited it in only fullscreen for whatever reason

24 Are quite good at "visible crew & Equipment" errors acutally, if you have watched all the seasons you have a few !
foevirre 3 years ago
yes, there have been reflections in windows and other things like that throughout the seasons.

Oh, man! Epic fail on the part of the editors.
