@Ashloomis I have heard him say that his parents were, I have never heard or read of him saying anything about himself or his world view. The closest thing to it I have read from him was in a audi file mag interview. He said (paraphrasing) I'm just a normal guy who likes basketball but when I write a movie I get all irrespective and start contemplating the existence of God. I also know that for purely educational reasons he was sent to a Catholic private school.
M NIght's movies are terrible, except for perhaps Sixth Sense. I have no idea how he gets people to funds these ridiculous projects. Lady in the Water was a disaster, just because there is some sort of "deep underlying meaning" doesn't mean it's a good film. I happen to be a big fan of films that are more than skin deep, but making up some wild, convoluted story and then putting some message to humanity in it, doesn't make you a good director.
@gamgeegirl87 I'm sorry you didn't like his films. But that's the fun thing about talking film. I do know why he gets funded, his films make money. (at least they used to) Like Jerry Bruckheimer doing "Cop Rock" if you have proven you can make money, people will let you do what you want. You still don't have to like MKS, but I do think he does excellent movies and then I like them even more because I agree with the message. Your right. A bad movie is still bad even if it has good things to say
Stop preaching Christianity! It makes you and the religion sound stupid. Why is every theme that you come up with about God and christianity? I'm sure M Night. was not thinking of these themes when he was making his films.
@sheldonman14 actually in a audi file mag interview. He said (paraphrasing) I'm just a normal guy who likes basketball but when I write a movie I get all irrespective and start contemplating the existence of God. If you check out our review of "the Happening" we note that the message has nothing to do with God. It's just most of these (kid in catholic school looking for God, x-pastor running from God whom God helps, man who lost his family and ends saying he feels reconnected to God) go there
So does this guy want to review films or preach up Christianity? He also talks like a homosexual. Not saying he is but he talks like typical West Hollywood, know what I mean? And the fact that he likes Lady in the Water is pretty gay.
He wants to review films as well as preach up Christianity. If you're a Christian and you also like movies, what else are you going to do? And no, I can say for sure that he's not gay. So what if he likes Lady in the Water? He's allowed to like whatever he wants to like. Under that reasoning, any guy who likes to wear pink or purple must be gay too. Come on man, stop thinking in stereotypes.
You've obviously never met a homosexual. There's a way they talk. This guy talks like one. He'll be out soon enough. And yes its educated reasoning that a man wearing hot pink or purple is gay. You are so naive its hysterical. Go to West Hollywood. Its not a stereotype. Just do me a favor even and MEET a gay person before you bother talking. And yes liking Lady in the Water is his right, but liking it seriously calls into question his endeavor to bother reviewing movies at all.
@EjkoUSC i met a gay person...and if i haven't been told that hes gay i wouldn't ever thought of it. and i know a person who wears pink..and he's not gay...a few people told me i speak like a homosexual, and i'm not gay, maybe it's educated, but nobody can say sth about EVERYBODY...if it's educated, then they talk about a damn huge number of people who wear pink and are gay, but there are always exceptions
@EjkoUSC The point of my videos is for Christians to look at film and understand what the film is saying and then to compare it to the Bible. So, I guess both, but it's preaching to the choir.
@1ThessFIVE21and22 No you're not preaching to the choir. You're alone on this. Even most Christians posess the common sense to know this shit is tripe. Bible and overtly gay closet case movie reviewers is fine and all but just so long as everyone is upfront about the irony of it. My god I love gay people but you are so much more flaming obvious than the most flamingly obvious ones. It's cool. I accept you. But be real man, come now.

I feel as though the only reason so many people didn't like the happening was either A: The ending, B: The plant thing, C: The mention of terrorists, Or D: Cuz of the critics hating it
My favorite Shyamalan movie was The Village. My least favorite was the Happening. I didn't think it was bad, in fact I thought it was good. It just wasn't Shyamalan.
You do know Shyamalan is a Hindu right
