It's sad that everyone thinks the is NOTHING ironic in this song, because most of it actualy is, One fool on T.V. said it wasn't and the world jumped on the bandwagon. One of the def. of Irony is "an outcome of events contrary to what was, or might have been, expected." No smoking sign on a cig. break? Ironic. Asking for a spoon, and there only being a thousand Forks? Ironic. Man has a fear of flying and the first flight he takes kills him? Ironic. Yes not all of it is ironic, but most is.
