  • Sehr gut

  • how did u make ur buttons yellow, mine are orange :|

  • @vanrok On the launchpad? On ableton? That´s weird. They are yellow per default. ARe you using katapult or something?

    it's me, tim

  • @TheCOFofficial its me mario

  • Sick Mishjok! I didn't even know I could find you on youtube like this:) Subscribed!

  • @ColorfulNew Thanks for the comment. Feel free to share the video :P

  • Cool! I like the lights too :-)

  • Whoaaa Mischjok now this is AWESOME! :D I wish you could do stuff like this to my shitty music, bahaha that'd make it sound so much better

  • @bytesize your music isn´t shitty, man :)

  • did you just use transpose to get all the tracks into the right key? Also what 'warp' setting did you use to make sure everything stayed in time?

  • @SoundGauge Not all tracks have been transposed for be compatible with each other. I chose the key of F minor because it is one of my favourite keys to play in. Some of the tracks only needed to be transposed one or two semitones, which isn´t dramatic, I guess.

  • @Sphereal Nice. And what warp settings did you use for keeping the timing of each track in unison with each other?

  • @SoundGauge lol I guess I didn´t see your second question. I don´t remember which warp mode i used because I actually ended up using different warp modes. You see, it was my first week using ableton so a lot of it was guess work. Something that works very well is isolating an 8-bar loop out of a song, or a 16-bar loop. You use the warp markers to crop that loop and then tell ableton to set that isolated loop, which is in its original tempo, to play as an 8-bar or 16-bar loop.

  • @Sphereal Yeah. Because usually i would just place the warp markers on the obvious kick drums. But sometimes they are less obvious.

  • @SoundGauge Well, kicks are usually louder and have a different decay time than other parts of a drum loop. I think they´re fairly easy to recognize. Melodies and basslines are harder to warp, you know...

  • Can you send me the Project in a zip file? Just for seeing your cut and other stuff?

  • @chinoknot I don´t know what you mean with "cut", but I could send you an image showing you what the project looks like.

  • @Sphereal yes! Also a picture is good. Just to have an idea. For cut I'm talking about the slice of the single track, beacuse I think you're not used the entire tracks.

  • @chinoknot I assumed you were talking about slices. And you´re right about me not using the whole tracks. That would have driven my laptop insane. Hmm I will upload the picture to myspace and will drop you a link to the picture.

    ...in 10 minutes.

  • Ableton also shared the link on their Facebook page, expect the views to keep rising! Cool video. How do you get all those different music styles to the same tempo?

  • @iramac77 Hello Iramac. I didn´t know Ableton had posted the link on their facebook.

The hardest part of this was to find songs whose tempo wouldn´t differ much from the 120 bpm I had in mind. I did have to stretch or rather warp most of the clips.

  • WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PUSHING? seriously have no idea and never used a launchpad lol :), but I do <3 ableton

  • @soneoo The launchpad is a very cool and flexible midi controller. I have yet to get it working as a monome lol.

  • You're famous @Sphereal :D neat mashup!

  • Novation shared your video!

  • @PandaRageOfficial Where?

  • @Sphereal Facebook ! :)

  • @PandaRageOfficial Well, that´s cool :)

  • How do u record your audio?

  • @gumdrops27 I set ableton to record whatever actions are done (audio and parameter changes). Feel free to share this :P

  • Would really like to keep listening, evern after it ended xD

looking forward for more of this kind of stuff :P

  • @Hauntedundead It should actually be longer, but I didn´t want it to be longer than 6 minutes. Feel free to share this :P

  • des ist echt super

  • @Spheral I was sayin the mix sounds good

  • @gumdrops27 lol thanks :)

  • I agree, this sounds great. This would be really cool to play live for a crowd. Is this available for download somewhere?

  • @chillskid Thanks for your comment, Jchills. I wish I could make it available for download, but I don´t know if that would bring me trouble (copyright, you know...)

  • What DAW r u using? Sounds uber good.

  • @gumdrops27 Ableton Live launchpad edition. The songs sound good as they are since they are already mastered lol
