Decent storyline, average actors, but awful screen shooting and editing, though the author tries to develop an interesting point about ethics, morals and human condition. 3/6
@Jellyfish60 You won't believe it, but it has been remade. It's called 'The Biter Bit', and it was made in 1900. I can't find any videos on YT, but it's basically the same as this one except it has a tree in the foreground. Sad, I know. Just thought I'd let you know; even if it is a year later than your original comment haha =)
When I show this to my social studies classes, they always laugh. And I love that, because here is a film that is nearly 115 years old, yet it brings about the same response as it did in 1895.
That is amazing, just like what some other commenters have said, it is hard to believe that that film came out in December, 1895! Sometimes all you can do is just sit there and gaw.
Sound doesn't work dumb shit.

@AnnShchadrina Nah. "Entrée d'un train en gare de la Ciotat" is considered like the first one.

@AnnShchadrina no. the first film ever is The output of Lumière's factories (La sortie des usines Lumière is the original france title)
sasha3542 11 months ago
@sasha3542 no. the oldest known film is "Roundhay Garden Scene" (1888).
MegaStupidMagic 3 months ago
@AnnShchadrina No, but it is the first fiction film ever. All earlier films have no plot. Obviously, it's also the first comedy film ever.
