Hi, i've had my GT-5 since 1997 and i've never had to change the battery so i have no idea if you lose all your settings or not but it's good practise to write down your settings or use the MIDI software if you can.
@ixcuix You will lose your data if you change the battery whilst the unit is switched off ... I changed mine with the power on BUT it's not recommended. Download Midiox - it's freeware and does the job. If you've got a gameport on your PC you can get a midi to gameport cable and save your settings. Alternatively look out for a Creative Audigy souncard ... they have midi ports to connect direct to the GT 5.
Ciao, what output uses from the gt5? and what input on the pc? what a type of cable uses? thanks and excuse me for my english, i hope both comprehensible.
Nice....................................................thanks.
I am worried that my GT-5 battery will go out and i will lose all my patch data.
Do you know if you can change battery without losing data?
I do have a midi software program that I got online to edit GT-5, but have not used it.
Guess I will just buckle down and write all the parameters to be on the safe side.
