  • S-COMMMBRIDAEEEEEE

  • i want to donkey punch this cunt so hard

  • He's been eating more eggs and less Ritalin which is good to see.

  • give the bastard a gold star

  • nerd, just saying

  • @TxSainTzxT Nerds are why you're on youtube right now.

  • Thumbs up if math gives you a hard on

  • I wanna slap this kid in th back if the head so bad

  • sheldon cooper in real life...

  • Why does he play with/lick his lips so much?

  • @Sydneylovesyou17

He is mentally challenged but that didn't stop him from composing beautiful music, winning the NATIONAL spelling bee and the science fair.

  • He's definately a much nicer guy now. You don't have to be a nerd to understand what he's saying. He's putting it the simplest way possible. True, he used to be a smart-ass cocky idiot, but you can see he's matured intellectually as well.

  • @TheJellybean417 is Stevan Hawking retarded? No, he's one of the smartest people alive yet he looks mentally disabled. This kid may look a little strange but i guarantee you he's way smarter than you. The definition of retarded is "slow or limited in intellectual development or academic progress." What I see here is the complete opposite of retarded.

Don't judge a person by how he looks.

  • @TheJellybean417 hes gunna go to harvard bro i wouldnt call that retarded

  • This kid just kills the stereotype..

  • i'm willing to bet that i was more confused by this than he was by his first boner

  • the weird thing is i understand what he is talking about, and im not a SUPER NERD

  • for a nerdy guy, he has some good teeth and skin. Lol. But kudos to evans. The world should be proud of him. :)

  • shout outs to even. gonna make the world a better place. good job kid!

  • Scombridae.. oddodododododod.. he'll never live it down :)

  • or you can use a calculator... dumb!

  • Like a boss!

  • what a dork!

  • @MegaTimebomb098 He has autism

  • i feel like he didnt technically answer the last question

  • Interesting to see him a few years after his first apearence, his communication skills seems to have improved significantly. I'm glad to see this kind of improvement because this will in no doubt help him in his years to come.

Communication is vital, without it even the most gifted kid wouldn't get far...

  • His lips are annoying me soooooo much.

  • Brilliant

  • OCD

  • He's so mellow and nice

  • He really doesnt look that bad...if he would lose the glasses and dress cooler?

  • people like this make me feel dumb

  • Proving a deep theorem connecting linear fractional transformations and continued fractions is a brilliant piece of work. I won't be surprised if he settles the Riemann Hypothesis when he's in graduate school. But maybe he'll stun the world and do that as an undergraduate. There's no limit to what he can do when he sets his mind to it.

  • @MusicDoLove

Wow...really? What will that do? You think Evan can install indoor plumbing? Probably not.

  • Where do home schooled kids go to college? University of Phoenix?

  • @wilburtrex he's going to harvard

  • @servesmasher really? I thought getting into harvard you need some personality attributes, i could be wrong though but a lot of good uni's want that

  • sounds like a newtonian equation type thing from calculus. newton's method.

  • It looked like he waved at the interviewer at 00:49

  • In all of human progression, most of the leaders have always stayed secluded. Isaac Newton worked alone on his own theories, and was rejected by British Science Academy. Leonardo DaVinci preferred to work alone in his house, in order to stay away from the "general and mundane" opinions. Why do most of us still revere them, although they weren't so social? Because they contribute to this world with achievements, not interactions. This is one of the most unfortunate weaknesses in humankind.

  • hes a robot.......their taking over...... twitch 1:05-1:09

  • well this is better than he was a kid at least when he was 14 it was like WTF IS UP WITH HIM!! look at his interview with kate couric haha

  • Is he still homeschooled?

  • @Trancemaster2052

Probably. It's not that uncommon to be homeschooled, I am. Especially in the case of Evan, he probably wants to spend as much time as possible learning and improving.

  • @MrEthereality Yeah I was homeschooled as well.

  • @Trancemaster2052 Well, He was through high school. In fall, he'll be starting at Harvard.

  • hes cute :)

  • I gotta start eating subway tuna fish sandwiches with extra scombridae

  • OMG

THIS IS A YOUNG PROFESSOR FRINK!!!!!

(obviously the profesor found some way of escaping the simpsons world)

  • @adolfolicious No, he's far less well adjusted than Frink.

  • is it latin, is it french? your homeschooled

  • He needs to be put on to the arts, get a little life in him, develop a self-critical faculty. America doesn't have the first idea of what to do with superior intelligences.

  • @krane121 He is- he's a wonderful and sensitive composer, with a great appreciation for arts of all kinds. He is extraordinarily self-critical, and he is well rounded.

  • @plvsbpb Until he learns at the VERY least to stop talking about some of these things as if they matter to other people, the American system will have failed him. He's in for a world of pain.

  • He actually seems more normal now, note, more normal, not actually normal

  • Yeah, he doesn't sound and look like a total retard anymore.

  • forever alone....

  • @cartman1288 Evan is one of the kindest, gentlest, and friendliest people I know. It's sad you have to make assumptions.

  • Also... I miss doing maths :(

  • Yay it's scombridae boy! :P

  • I wish people would stop making fun of him! :( How would you like it if YOUR kid was born this way? Now it's not so funny, is it? Not everyone can be normal and beautiful like your perfect kids *eyesrolls* but Evan is trying his hardest considering the cards that are stacked against him.

  • @wilburtrex hey he is really socially awkward because he was deprived from core social values as a kid not because of his autism its because his mom never let him be a kid, she instead made him study but he is a genius, i just wish he could be a little bit more respectfull

  • @pwnerpigIet Not True! Evan has always had genuine passion and interest in any and all topics into which he delves, and his mother has been only a true supporter of him- All she wants is for him to be happy. He has never been pushed into anything he was not interested in doing. Additionally, he is NOT socially awkward as the interviews often seem to suggest, and is, instead, an amazingly kind sensitive young man. He is very respectful of everyone. Please don't make assumptions...

  • He is funny!

  • He will solve a millennium problem, or make some other crowning achievement for humanity.

  • Cute & bright , awesome combination :-) Wonderful future is before him ! Peace .

  • to his credit the lady interviewing him was a moron.

  • strange guy :D

  • The lip thing is annoying.

  • @ElliotovHull

    agree

  • MELVIN!

  • scomberdae or scombridae?

  • This is the same guy who won a National level spelling bee 4 years ago. After winning the Spelling Bee he gave an interview on CNN. It was the most awkward/funny interview in TV history (hyperbole). He was so uncomfortable, and it made him seem a little arrogant. I felt sorry for him. Anyway, he obviously works hard and is very gifted in so many areas. I thought he looked familiar.

'Kiran Chetry CNN Spelling Champ interview'

  • scombridae?

  • california represent!

    congratulations evan :]

  • This guy is the definition of a genius, we don't see many of these guys often. No doubt in about 10-15 years he would have invented some crazy thing and be earning billions.

They do say that all geniuses are a bit mental, and he clearly is! Watch him in the spelling bee, its crazy to see a 13 year old like that.

  • @to1986 Your absolutely right, you don't see guys like this too often. This is the next Stephen Hawking right here.

  • This guy is super nerdy. therefore, PERFECT to win the first place. I'm glad they're still picking the nerds.

  • This is the best argument against home schooling.

  • @wilburtrex

    ......or supporting it (home schooling).

  • @wilburtrex Yeah lol, dude is a genius, what a failure home schooling turned out to be.

As for social skills... we all know there are no geeks in public school!!!!

  • @wilburtrex no, it's a successful case. He's a happy young man with a loving family and circle of friends, with a bright and well rounded future ahead of him. It's sad people judge him on appearance.

  • @plvsbpb Everyone is judged on appearances.. which I agree is kinda sad.

  • @plvsbpb I'm glad to see someone set the record straight about Evan O'Dorney. When I hear him speak, I perceive a really decent individual. A short video like this about a single accomplishment cannot possibly do him justice. It's more like a 1-dimensional projection of a multi-dimensional person. My guess is that he actually spends more time doing things with his family and friends and helping other people than he does on his own math projects.

  • look this:

    youtube.com/watch?v=Yd5Jt0-11DU

  • I'm an engineering student at University of Guam and it is true what Evan is saying. Schools don't necessarily show students that math can in fact be beautiful in certain circumstances. The math education here on Guam is just disastrous. We need more people like Evan to give some insights into how math can be interesting.

  • @gatesindustries , That is true however it's all in the delivery presentation of the instructor to his or her students . Peace .

  • @26mel1, I concur.

  • This guy is brilliant!

  • why in the description says second place... then who was the first?

  • I wish I was that good.
