  • i have a 05 YJ m6 and love it. 182k just hit on the clock. mods AEM bruteforce intake, stage 2 monster clutch, no resinator, to flowmaster 40's on a diablo tune and love it. all original i get 18-20 city and 22-26 highway babying it soon as i lay into it. she drops but to feel the rush lol love itttttttttttttt. bad ass car mine looks the same. just some paint work tinted the tails and painted the truck that matches the taillight lines. looking to do ls3 heads and intake with tsp cam and tune

  • @Rancher383 Thanks! At the time of this video i was averaging 15mpg around town and about 21mpg on the highway.

  • @Rancher383 It's worse now since I installed 3.91 gears...well city mileage has went up slightly since I can cruise around in 6th gear at a lower rpm...Nothing I have done to my car has helped the fuel economy lol. That was never an issue when I started modding

  • @CarJunk911 Thanks, it's still a work in progress. It's definitely an M6, I couldn't have an automatic in a sports car.

    sweet goat man sounds sick, i ran the ms4 on mine before i got side swiped. had ported l92 heads car pulled like crazy on top!

  • seems a bit too quiet for the mods you have, wonder why? awesome gto though. a lot of other ms3 cam videos seem choppier maybe it comes down to tuning.

  • @hooknbookls1 It's plenty loud in person. I've watched a few other ms3 vids, some being untuned, so I guess maybe that might have something to do with it. Plus this was a warm start and an older camera.

  • @illbreakurface for me it's not bad at all. some people would complain but i just say use a lower gear and work the clutch and you're good to go.

  • I had a 99 Z28 that I was "never" going to sell then I did. I miss it now but am loving my 04 GTO. You know you're getting old when the space in the back seat has importance. Never the less I love mine and don't intend on selling this one either.

  • @josh7003 Nah, the engine's stock. Just the cam, headers, underdrive pulley, a "cold" air intake, plugs/wires, and a Nick Williams tune. Daily driving honestly isn't bad. You learn to keep it in a lower gear to prevent 'bucking' and it'll run like a champ. It's a big head-turner.

    awesome car mate, and im in the same situation, i dont care about dyno figures, i want it to have a real choppy idle and be loud, although i dont have a GTO, i have the same engine in a HSV maloo (ute in australia) awesome car mate :D

  • Did you lose any low end power with that cam? When you are cruising along and tip into the throttle to speed up a bit does it bog or do you need to downshift?

  • Oh most definitely you lose low end torque and that's to be expected with a cam of these specs. A gear swap will get me in the torque band quicker and I'll soon be doing that. Power comes in around 2500rpm and pulls like a beast all the way to the line. And yeah, I need to gear down if I'm just cruising along and decide to get on it.

  • i know kinda stupid, but what did you have to do as in the tuning for your cam...i was told by an ass tht i need to have a new computer with an onboard lab top to run one in my truck. please let me know the truth!

  • i'm not a tuner so i couldn't be specific, however, i seriously doubt you'd need a new ECU...simple software programs should allow you to go in and change different variables (air/fuel, timing, fan activation temps, idle speed, shifting points...) and get the best driveability and performance.....that's about all i could say on the matter

  • That is absolutely not true. GM's PCM's (computers) are extremely tunable. What you will do is get your cam installed, and take it to an LSX tuner to have it dyno tuned. This will cost about 400-500.

  • Sounds sick. Very similar exhaust set-up to mine; Kooks 1 3/4 LTs, 3'' offroad, 2.5'' H pipe (resonator delete) to 4'' round race bullets like your LM1s. Was looking at this exact cam in 112 and wondered if it hit hard, this was exactly the video I was looking for, thanks.

    Was that a cold start or warm start? (Open or closed loop idle?) And is your car an M6 or A4?

  • that's a warm start i do believe...no more than 20 minutes sitting as I had just gotten back to my friends house after picking it up from the tuner...also, I'm an M6

  • not conservative...450 seems high without work on the heads or intake...430ish is about the most i've seen over on ls1gto forums, but maybe i have the one car that doesn't react well to what i do to it...it's not about the dyno #s for me anyway

  • Thanks man! Yeah it's a big cam but it'll work well with my future heads i think. But that's a long time away, lol...and I think Nick set it to idle around 950.

  • suits me just fine...i'm personalizing my car, not modifying it...i do what i want without regard for weight and time slips and dyno numbers....the car drives awesome and i like it so i could care less about what a smaller cam could've/would've/should've done...thanks for looking
