  • I love the Gibson LP Tone better...

  • Anyone else notice that Mitch plays the EXACT same riff and lead in every single Sweetwater demo?

  • @murfdog19 he plays the same thing to get a grasp of the differences and to give an example of each amp

  • I know this amp. The sick fuzzy distortion on this vid has nothing to do with its real sound!!!

  • jesus christ, let the amp sound, save the licks for later! thanks

  • @thricex05... of course 30 watts is enough, it's only 4 or 5 decibels quieter than 100 watts. 50 watts is only 2-3 decibals quieter than 100 watts. 150 watts is only 1 or 2 decibels louder than 100 watts. It really doesn't matter if you mic the cab anyway. You have big truck syndrome, you must have something big to make up for something you're lacking in your pants.

  • @evilvon Yeah, except the decibel scale is logarithmic; so when you're "only" 2-3 decibels quieter, you're also 20 to 30 times quieter. Kind of a big difference, just saying.

  • @4114B Even if you're right, which you aren't because a 100 watt tube head can be louder than a 150 watt tube head... and a 300 watt solid state head can be as loud as a 50 watt tube head or louder. It really doesn't matter until you crank it and find out. No matter the cause, it's still important to minimize stage noise and a smaller amp cranked reaches sweeter notes than a bigger amp at 2/10. It just seems louder because the speakers push more air or boost more audible frequencies.

  • @evilvon

And speaker sensitivity also matters alot for the overall volume of the amp.

  • @evilvon

i remember replying but i guess i never did

yes, technically a 30 watt amp is not much louder decibel wise than a 100 watt amp. However, the perceived volume makes a difference. also, ohms make a difference. an amp will be a different volume at different ohms. ALSO, i prefer high wattage amps because the higher the output, the less you're going to have to drive the amp for volume. more wattage = more headroom.

also, i'm sorry you have dick on your mind.

i mean unless you're into that.

  • @thricex05 It only has more headroom if you crank it, otherwise you're just muffing the potential of the amp...

you're the one with cock on your mind, I never said it. It's so much on your mind that you're putting it everywhere.

  • @evilvon

you really don't know what you are talking about. that doesn't even make sense. you don't crank an amp to get clean tones. that's not how tubes work. the more you push it, the dirtier it gets. this is basic tube amplifier knowledge. when people say headroom it means more clean volume or later break up.

  • @evilvon ALSO you obviously are missing half a brain because if you read your comment that i replied to you said that i was making up for something in my pants, which is clearly a reference to the size of my penis, which you brought up on your own. you clearly had plenty of dick on your mind.

  • Man please , your reviews are good but please stop playin the same licks, I know it's good for reference but if I hear those chords one more time"""",,,!,,

  • @uterallindenbaum considering i play a jcm800 2203 and i dont play under 12 oclock on the master, 30 watts isn't enough. depends on what kind of music you play and what the rest of your band plays. especially if you want super clean tones. 30 watts isnt gonna give you enough headroom to get some sparkly clean.

  • @thricex05 what? i have a Crate Vintage club 30 and it's got PLENTY of headroom...

  • @diceman1000 sorry. not enough headroom for me. i mean it also depends on what speakers you're playing through for squeaky clean but as for me, i found that most amps don't have enough head room for the volume i need. i've played through a fender deville 2x12. not enough headroom. you may say that it might be crappy tubes but when the amp is all tube, you are bound to have some break up when you have it set over noon. it's just the natural characteristics of tubes.

  • Budda Superdrives are absolutely killer classic + rock amps. Like a tighter, higher gain vintage Plexi with a slightly Vox-ish cleaner channel. Great amps and they KILL with Strats.

  • @buddaman1971

They mostly sound crappy in youtube demos, including this one.You have to hear/play one live to get what it is all about. So impressed, I bought one!

  • @uterallindenbaum it depends on the amp - my vht 50/cl isn't really all that loud through my caa 2x12. some 30 watters are loud as hell and some are much more manageable

  • @uterallindenbaum lol and whats wrong with that?

  • Reeeeally nice tone, I'd love to hear it with a 50s Strat...

  • @kaycikissable I own a Superdrive 30. This is an extremely efficient amplifier. What I mean by that is though it is rated at 30 Watts, it is 30 FULL watts. It is as loud as many other 50 Watt tube amplifiers, such as marshall or orange amps. I have never turned it past half volume on the Master control. Even playing gigs with full bands playing HEAVY stuff. It is really, really loud. Get it!

  • Wow, this amp sounds great, I have been lookin for something with that 70s modded marshall od tone an this has it but also has a killer clean channel and seem to be well made also! Dont know if the 30 watt will be loud enough

  • @kaycikissable I know people who have owned the 30 watt head Superdrives. They say they are very loud.

  • The Fender guitar is muddy, that humbucker sounds muffed,

The Les Paul sounded a bit clearer. This amp would sound great with a strat.
