This is a great video and the music matches perfectly. We are blessed to have one of the last living daughters of Cass Ole. She looks a lot like her sire. We also have his grand-daughter and great grand-daughter. This is a great line of Arabians. Very loving and affectionate. Thanks again for the great tribute.

Actually, this helps you identify which horse is which really clearly! El Mohktar is much lankier and has a flatter head, not so much dish, and a softer eye as well. Beautiful horses, makes me want an Arabian again :)

Straight Egyptian Arabians of this quality are hard to come by, none the less black. And, they had El Moktar AND Cass Ole, two amazing representations of the breed. If this doesn't make you want an Arabian, I don't know what will :p

I got to meet and see Cass Ole perform at an arabian show at the San Antonio Rose back in the early 80's. He remembered almost all of his liberty training from the films. He was really mellow in person. Just had a look of quiet wisdom in his eyes.

IF YOU FIND IT - watch a documentary (it was on pbs) called HOMESTRETCH - it is a program where thoroughbreds are saved from extinction by letting inmates care for them! in Lexington. The inmates become better humans by working with these neglected animals. Very touching. Regardless of your feelings, the horses are pretty to watch in this documentary and they are saved a horrible end. Thanks for video.

Yes - the facility is Blackburn Correction Facility and home to the thoroughbred retirement foundation of kentucky. Thoroughbreds were never in danger of becoming extinct, but they are the discarded horses of the racing industry. They do a fantastic job rehabbing minor injuries and adopting these horses out and giving the ones that are in their last days a place to live. Also they have an always return policy if the adopter can no longer care for the horse. Awesome place !

I'm not kidding,I get a lump in my throat from this movie.I was about 8 or 9 years old when it came out and to me,Arabians are the perfect breed.

Interesting thing is,Cass Ole was in few shots as the owners [San Antonio Arabians]stipulated he was not to be used in scenes with running or swimming and one of three stallions used in the second film was El Mokhtar who was a true black Arabian from Egypt.He was used for close-ups and the final race scene.Sadly,he died from colic on the set.

Arabians are my favorite. They get a lot of bad rap though, sadly. I'v heard people call them 'stupid hot headed horses with a temper.' But they are quite the opposite! It's all in how you raise them and treat them. I own two, one I had since birth and she is the calmest, sweetest, most intelligent girl ever. Arabians are a wonderful choice!! The mom Arab behaves absolutely perfect for a two year old!

But when i bought the disney version i was shocked, i think its really bad.Sure the horses and nature are nice but the way the film is...over the top..it can never get close to the magic the first two movies had, they touched my soul then and still do now...

Back on topic after the Islam nonsense below. I've been doing some searching on this film as a friend of mine has been commissioned by a big Hollywood studio to "re-imagine" the original 1979 movie for a blockbuster that's looking like a 2011 release. He says the hardest element is finding another horse as good as Cass'ole (the main horse in the original film) who was a star horse. He's a brilliant writer, has won Emmys for his TV scripts, so it'll be great! I'll send him a link to this video.

Its always been one of my favorite movies and I would be thrilled to see a new version of it released. Though the cinematography on the original '79 movie was so incredible I don't know how they could film it any better, even with todays technology. You never know, I would love to be surprised!

Kelly Reno could have really used his talents there. He's best at silent scenes, and expressing emotions through his eyes and face - he would have been great playing an amnesiac and I can just imagine what a great movie moment it would have been when he's riding the black in the race and suddenly remembers who the horse is. Man, it would have been such a great movie with Kelly Reno in it, but alas, it never got made...
