If someone or their ethnic group is accepted, they will gradually come to accept other groups as well. History has taught as that the ill-treatment of a minority group results in a legacy of hostility. But there is a way to break it. If more people are like you, and "love and accept all people from different cultures", then the hostilities between cultural groups will dissolve. It may take time, as insults from the past can cut deep. But there is no doubt they will eventually heal.
Thus Muslim Australians participating in the Australian political system is not only an example of immigrants obeying the law, but participating in the political system as an Australian citizen. Finally, I believe that taking the High Road and looking at multiculturalism as a positive thing is not wrong. If all Australians maintained a point of view consistent with the views defined by the multiculturalism policy, then "Muslim people having a having a habit of making their way into the political system" is not a bad thing. As they are Muslim Australians, that is, Australians who have immigrated to Australia under the multiculturalism policy and retain the Muslim culture. Also, under multiculturalism an emphasis is placed upon obeying Australian Laws despite your culture.

I do believe that multiculturalism, if practiced by all members of a nation, is definitely a positive thing. I noticed you mentioned that "Asians have assimilated extremely well". Assimilation was Australia's immigration policy a few decades ago, and it has since been replaced by integration, followed by the current immigration policy of multiculturalism.
It is very disappointing when a country like australia that prides itself in multiculturalism produces people with such racist ideals. For those who support racist ideals, please understand that race is only skin-deep, and when a person migrates to a multicultural society such as Australia, they should be accepted as an Australian. Australia is not defined culturally by the anglo society that was present 200 years ago, but by the people of many different origins who call themselves Australian.

If more people are like you, and "love and accept all people from different cultures", then the hostilities between cultural groups will dissolve.
