  • Yeah, So many variations on this k4.

  • @AfterEffectsLova Well he has a video up, but he uses reduction and pairs up his edges 2 at a time.

  • @AfterEffectsLova redux with 3-2-2-2-3 pairing

  • Where'd you get the 3rd Generation stackmat?!

  • @FirefoxFreeze You're dumb.

  • @ljrox123 No I'm not. Misinformed, probably. I saw a thread on Speedsolving about a 3rd Gen Stackmat. Reminds me very much like the one in the video.

  • @FirefoxFreeze You should probably read up a little more on that thread.

  • @ljrox123 I did and am now informed kthx.

  • Dudeee, I can't find like any good tutorials on the K4 method.

  • @RequiemSoup I have a tutorial up from a while ago, or search "K4 tutorial alpha." Pembo made a good one a while back.

  • this takes talent. i can only solve one side of a 3x3x3 cube, i fail so hard

  • well i fail compared to you. it takes me the same amount of time to solve a 3x3x3

  • 2 minutes 37 seconds my record is 1 minute 12 seconds in your face ha!

    =P

  • @Misty994 Lol this is also an old vid. What do you average?

  • @Misty994 so you are cheater ha

  • is that an eastsheen cube and are they better than rubiks cube brand cubes?

  • Yes, yes, and mefferts are better than ES

  • Stackmat, generation 1

  • i average 1:44 wit basic reduction

  • Nice

  • awsome

  • what is the best method? can somebody tel me?

  • depends entirely on you.

although MOST people do well with reduction method.

although learning multiple methods isn't such a bad idea :]

  • thanks.

  • can you please post a tutorial or send me a link to a good tutorial??

    thx

  • Well, in my opinion, K4 does not own because it can't beat (mainstream wise) reduction because reduction times have been sub-40 (non computer) whereas K4 has not. There's too much pausing involved even with really good look ahead, and that's just how I feel about K4, as well as with the cage method.

  • what brand of cube are you using

  • Looks like an Eastsheen.

  • doesn't eastsheen have purple instead of red?

  • Yes, but you can see that he put Cubesmith stickers on it.

  • purple instead of orange.

  • @narutard45671 Yes, but his has tiles on them

  • its an eastsheen with cubesmith tiles..

    I believe

  • lol, i guess it's not a rubik's 4x4... it's too precise

  • Eastsheen Brand. Can't wait for the V Cube4

  • Yeah it's ES. And why wait for V cube to make something while we have Mefferts 4x4? They're amazing

  • For you at least.

Some people have small hands and Mefferts is bulky like a cowboy barrel full of milk,

  • I thought mine was super bulky too. I took the time and energy to pry off all the tiles though (broke 2 pieces in the process, mefferts replaced them for free tho) and restickered it with standard stickers. The end result is much less bulk. I can't look ahead quite as fast as I can with an ES, but the high turn speed makes up for it by a lot.

  • I'm getting a QJ (Mini) 4x4. I would have gotten bulky-size, but hands are small. My only weakness with all puzzles is looking ahead.

    relax. *does some Yoga crap*

  • What's up with these minis I've heard of? I never check forums or anything, so I discover cubes like MONTHS after they come out haha.

  • QJ=Clefferts

    Mini=Superior of all 4x4s

  • @FirefoxFreeze QJ and Clefferts are different

  • where do you buy this

  • The K4 system loooks really interestesting -more elegant than the 3x3x3 reduction. I don't see why this doesn't have the potential to be faster. If more people worked on it,I think we would start seeing better times with this method>

  • i really like the cage method

  • ITS 12 O' CLOCK lol

  • Hey, what color scheme is that? I have mine in the old style (Japanese), but your's is green opposite white and yellow opposite blue, red opposite orange?

  • Better than I, but if you learned Fridrich Last Layer, than you would probably break sub-2 minutes.

  • he can't because the edges arn't paired

  • Pretty cool.

  • co ko co ko

  • is there any faster methods.

  • Yep, Reduction is much faster than this (well, if you do Fridrich for the 3x3 solve part.)

  • Haha the angry throw at the end

  • i dont think this method is faster on a 4x4

  • obviously its faster.

  • is it like Petrus Vs. Fridrich in 3x3x3..

  • @CUB3FR34K

    lol

in my opinion, Fridrich owns, and reduction owns (with Fridrich)

  • uhh...that bird messed you the hell up

  • you look pissed at the end...

  • coo koo coo koo

  • Nice solve, but K4 is way too inefficient.

  • /watch?v=b6SnTGjreNg

  • /watch?v=XgzjxDXSxUg

  • K4 isn't that fast because nobody else bothers to use it. You said it was inefficient, I prove you wrong. Haha

  • No, you didn't prove me wrong. Compared to the method I use, K4 is inefficient. Many people use K4 and it's an ok method, but it doesn't get enough done in few moves.

  • your awesome dude (Y).

  • nice solve 5/5

  • I like the coo-koo(sp?) clock that goes off. =P

  • isnt the k4 method the one taught in the rubiks manual when u buy a 4x4, its good and all i think it has no parities, but the guides' alorithms make absolutely no sense!!!

  • No, the K4 method is a method that does not have any written guides for it. Most of it is intuition anyways.

If you want a guide for K4, look at the tutorials that Pembolog and I have made.

  • could you post a video on how to use this k4 method

  • I already have.

  • lol

  • Is the k4 method the one where you solve the centers then pair edges up and solve it like a 3x3 and run into parity?

  • No, K4 is basically a layer by layer 4x4 method. The one you are speaking of is Reduction.

  • what is the K4 method and how do u use it?

  • It's basically an intuitive Layer by Layer method for the 4x4. You use it to solve the cube.

  • which do u guys like better 4x4 eastsheen or 4x4 rubik's

  • Right now, Rubik's. But that's only because my beloved Eastie is old and dying.

  • whats eastsheen?

  • A kind of cube.

  • dude don't ;isten to those guys, my best time is 4 37

  • My best time is 1:36...

  • k4 is murderige

  • It's what?

  • whered u get that mat? and how much?

  • From a friend, for free =P

  • you mean from a bird in a tree

  • Wtf, I got thumbs down for my own comment... (I was accidentally on my bro's account.)

  • omfg you take for ever to solve that fucking cube and fuck you K4 method....ooooooo yeah k4 yea go drown or something

  • Go watch Thom Barlow solve using K4 and tell me he sucks. And before you go and make an ass out of yourself, why don't you post a 4x4 video backing the shit you talk?

  • thats a japanese oriented cube XD

  • lol, u are nice

    woooot, is 12:00 XD

  • where do you get an eastsheen with orange stickers ?

  • They are non textured Cubesmith tiles (google it)

  • woah nice!

im junhyuk from chat from IRC #rubik

  • can u post a video on how to solve it like that

  • I already have.

  • what K4

  • Method.

  • what type of method give me the url

  • where did you get that timer?

  • From a friend.

  • thankyou anyway

  • lol 12'o clock noon. (coo-coo clock in background)

  • Gosh I love the shirt:D

  • Props to you for being the first person to comment on it in this video, in one of my other vids it's all they talked about =)

  • haha!!

  • I'm using K4 method. But still in the learning process for the LL.

  • Yay, I got somebody into K4!

This just in, all of my videos have been uploaded for the LL. Check out my profile.

  • How did you get your eastsheen to move so smoothly? (spring mod?) and could you maybe post a commutator vid?

  • All ES cubes are smooth, it's just a matter of making sure that you don't lock it up too much.

Maybe I'll work on that comm vid, but commutators are such a pain, it's pretty much something you need to work out on your own. Give me a few days, if I get enough motivation for it I will.

  • ooo. i tried to find a site or something but i couldnt

  • You're not going to be able to, there are no K4 sites on the Internet. Thom is working on it, until then, find somebody who knows the method :) (me)

  • how did you learn them from Pembo??

  • MSN messenger.

  • ok i watched your tutorial and Pembos tutorial. i just need to know how to do commutators. where can i learn??

  • I learned them from Pembo, and I'm not sure where he learned them. Maybe one of us should make a video explaining them... I'll see if I can get Pembo to do it, seeing as he can teach them much better than I could.

  • I just started cubing a couple weeks ago and got my 3x3x3 time down to around 1:20 average. So I ordered my Rubik's Revenge off eBay today so I should get that soon lol, but would you say the K4 method is the best for a beginner to solve the revenge? If not can you tell me a good method to look up?

  • K4 is a simple method to learn. It's a bit more complicated than reduction, but I would recommend sticking with it. PM me and I can teach you, we need more K4 solvers!

  • thats a eastsheen cube

  • Yes it is.

  • I might make another 4x4 video today, I just watched this video for the first time and realized how horrible the time was, lol.

  • holy crap the revenge of the cukcoo clock!

  • Yeah, I think you're the first person who has mentioned that. During the solve when it went off I was thinking "That damn clock again!!!!" Lol

  • nice solve by the way.

  • that shit is hard to put bak together

  • wtf is the K4 method? ive heard of centers first and the cage method, but not da k4

  • You build two opp centers, solve 3/4 cross edges of D, and then use that open slot to solve the rest of the centers. Solve the rest of D, insert edges one at a time, and then use commutators to solve the LL.

  • how did you get a big one?

  • Google it, lol.

  • pff you suck men...

  • Better then sucking sims.

  • not the cukcoo again!

  • Yeah... That damn clock, only goes off when I'm filming something...

  • eastsheen or cubesmith tiles? or both?

  • cubesmith i believe.

  • Yeppers, you win. Non textured CS tiles. They own, just like K4 does.

  • hey where did u get that timer?

  • Kyle Allaire =D

  • good video, but just got one question though........ wats the difference beetween methods??

  • You don't cube, stop wasting my time.

  • srry geez im just asking :(

  • hahahaha!!!!

  • Non cubers, such a problem, eh?

  • oh yes.

  • LOL!!!!!!
