I encountered this video over a year ago, and it was so good I just assumed it was official. The hypnotic visuals fit the sentiment of the song perfectly. Incredible. Kudos.
i would REALLY like to know how they added all of those images using just the subtext of water, it's a very powerful and effective communicator to those of us who can see it.
They took an extremely fast shot of this person, something like a hundred images per second and projected it at normal speed. Then they put it through a trivial computer program which affects the image as if it's in water. You can have fast waves or small ripples, whatever.
you are missing the point entirely. the image blinks, smiles and loses all cohesion at the end, it even changes to feminine features. sorry, but thats "guided" on purpose, not simple water physics. while each can happen (sort of) viewed through water, someone is trying to say something with this. its obvious.
I don't understand what you're disagreeing with. The image is electronically processed using a watery effect. Of course it's not "simple water physics" (whatever that is). As to the "point" of the video, I did not addrress that at all -- only the technique.
I see an Orson Welles movie and I wonder "What's the significance of that deep focus shot?" I also wonder "How did he shoot that deep focus shot?" There are two different, unrelated questions, one abt technique and one abt significance or meaning.
well thanks for taking the time to reply, dont get me wrong i love the music and the video, i was just thinking there was an intentional message in the video itself, of course thats highly subjective.
and if the artist/participants choose not to elucidate on the subject, such is of course their right. good job.
Yes, it's Kerin Dreijer Andersson from The Knife and Honey is Cool. She sings on two new Royksopp songs. If you listen to "High School Poem" on the Hannah Med H soundtrack, you can hear that she probably had a lot more to do with "What Else is There" since the vocals are rhythmically similar.
They never stop amaze me with theire music...has been so since i heard them the first time loong ago..

this is shot under water the movement caused the effects

it's way too guided for that to be true, but thank you for taking the time to reply anyways.

it is true - the slow motion effect helped too.

i am just saying there is a deeper meaning than "technique" and the visual aspect going on. thats all
