They'd perhaps do damage but I don't think they have what it takes to kill a Male Lion, it would be too big and strong for them and a Lions teeth are longer then a Baboon's, not to mention it's claws and most likely it could seriously damage a Baboon just by giving it a paw swipe. I seriously feel a Lioness would kill 15 to 20 Baboons before the others decided to run, a male Lion would do worse.

If Hyenas weren't as timid as they are Im sure they could rip a male Lion to pieces however they do not. Watching these baboons gave me courage, when I was attacked by a German Shepard I got some scars for my trouble but HE got owned, even when he had my left arm in his mouth with his 1" teeth/fangs. At the end of the video you can see the adult males coming to the front of the group to chase it off.
