But we have a a huge variety of ways of cooking it. We can make it less or more processed if we wanted. But its healthier than everything else we buy in stores, and it saves a lot of money. Many reserves around Ontario do what we do, and its been around for generations.
You make us homesick for the north. Some of the best meals were because your dad gave us a chunk of caribou meat to cook back home in Moose Factory. Dominic and his wife also brought us caribou when they visited us in Toronto.

This was a nice time out with my daughters Jade and Dayna. Jade is now studying Taekwondo and will receive her blackbelt next year. Jade is also studying Guitar. Dayna on the other hand is struggling with school but will move to Toronto to get back into school. I am sure they will do good.

Yes, the vegetarians, hippies, and activists are always on about 'saving' the animal or supposedly 'respecting' the animals. But they then go on to not respect different cultures. And I really don't see how they're respecting the animals any better. I think a greater understanding and respect can be gained if you are hunting for food and survival, or even to keep alive traditions. I would probably appreciate my food more if I actually had to hunt for it. It's an accomplishment.

I suppose the problem here is that I have a problem with "culture". I don't believe it hiding behind in the same manner people hide behind religion. I do what I feel is the right thing based on my knowledge of the world and my experiences. To do something just because our ancestors did it before us doesn't make sense. For example slavery. What I see an wrong is killing. On an individual basis killing any animal human, caribou or otherwise.

i respect that you dont like killing anything, live and let live thats all cool..but these people are harvesting the animals to survive..my point in this was that the native way of life may look cruel, but western industry has caused way more suffereing by polluting the earth, oil soaked seabirds die from hypothermia for example, freezing to death is not a good way to go..we have ruined the earth not native culture.
