People who abuse children are not gay or straight they are perverts who prey on the young. My guess is they are living in a church that cares more about its pocket book then young souls.
Most victimization is perpetrated by someone the victim knows and or trusts. If people want to protect their women and children they must know what to look for and who they should be concerned with. How about that priest who tried to compare criticism of the RCC to anti-Semitism? Now that takes some cheek. BTW, diplomatic immunity is not automatic, even for a head of state. If a country doesn't grant you plenipotentiary status than you can be subject to arrest. Bush had to cancel a trip to Brazil when he was president because they wouldn't grant him diplomatic status.

During the Reformation, the believers punished the church for financial corruption and obstructing common access to the Word. Now, Catholics see the injustice committed by the church and do nothing effective to correct the church because within their hierarchy of values raping little children is not a bad as making people learn Latin.
Far from violating Catholic beliefs, the Church is following them by treating ecclesiastic justice as separate and superior to civil justice, and promoting injustice through mercy for the sinner.
Those priests also don't know SHIT about how to handle a wife and kids, a mortgage, a real job, or ANYthing about real life - but they're who you're supposed to go for to learn about everything? Laughable.
