    You have to sysprep the reference computer using WAIK which is software provided by microsoft. That strips the hardware specific information allowing it to be installed on multiple computers. There are many online guides to do so.

  • awesome =) do you have any solution to different harware image deployment? ive read acronis true image has an 'universal restore' so the image is 'hardware adaptable' (sry bad eng). do u know if fog could do that? thnkx

    Actually if the image can fit your HDD i believe you can deploy it in several computer even if they are not identical. Anyway you should check FOG website for more info.

  • @petruzz Even if it may not interests you anymore because of the time passed by, I would like to answer to your question: You cannot deploy those Windows Images to computers which differ from the host computer without making a workaround on windows. But that is relatively simple: You just have to run a tool called sysprep ("C:\Windows\System32\sysprep\­sysprep.exe"). This is already installed on Windows Vista and Windows 7. On Windows XP it is stored at the installation disk.
