Ha! I was just thinking of this animation classic for some reason and hoping some kind soul had posted it, and sure enough.
Some of my friends and I threw a "But is it Art?" party once where we did a reading of this, with different people voicing the different parts...of course, everyone joined in on the "chorus"...
Anyone ever wanna go to some little poetry reading (not the good ones, but like the goth "I'm a tortured soul, I can write stuff!" suburban opium dens) and read something like this in front of a room full of people?
heck I'd do it. I did a similar thing once. I got up in front of the poetry club and I said. "Lunch box, lunch box, lunchy lunchy lunch box" and then I sat back down
You still have the lazer disk? Could you help me out? I"ve been trying to remember the name of another animation I believe was in the festival that year, maybe you could see if it's on the disk. I think it was actually called Lazar. It was about a guy trying to get outside the forbidden wall.. Any info you could give me to help track it down would be much appreciated. Thanks. Gavin
Thanks a bunch for posting this! I saw this at Spike & Mike's Festival of Animation in in Riverside, CA around 1987 or '88. Even alongside other now classic animated shorts, this was the one that everyone was quoting after the show.
Wish it was in a better quality resolution. Saw this back in the '80's at an animation festival.

It's amazing how much work went into the animation of this piece.

Oh, It's Kurt Schwitters! Wonderful. Sounds like the sounds our tabla player makes in the middle of his performance.... Joan

I used to love this video when I was a child. Nearly 20 years since I last saw it, but I still remembered most of it.
