at the begining of a load, trash wont break up as bad because you start out with a small void between packer blade & push out blade. so a large tv that happens to survive the sweep cycle can remain relativly untouched
Yer doesn't seem like this truck really destroys as much as modern trucks, usually a computer like that would be reduced to about 1 millionth of it's size! lol What are you asking about the ejector? - I'm not totally clear.
man this is the best vid i have ever seen in my lif, its even better than the hard core channel on my free pay site which you recommended to me in maths thanks once agiain.OMG!! and also ram is a curry. once again this is the wikedist cool vid i have ever seen. and also all you retards that have left comments on this bull have no lives eat my balls you recycling bunch of tards
cool video! i noticed some of the trash was not crushed up. do you keep the ejector plate to the back of the body so the trash presses up against it when you run the hopper blade? or do you pull the ejector plate all the way towards the cab of the truck so the body fills faster ?
Yer I get the idea this truck doesn't crush as powerfully as trucks these days. I think with this truck the guys probably take the ejector to the front, got a feeling on this one it wouldn't get pushed up by the rubish... though I may be wrong.
At first I thought it was a Volvo F cab, when I saw it from the side. I still can't get used to those american and asian brands. It is slightly longer than the Volvo F7 cabs we had at work untill 6-7 years ago.
Unfortunately not anytime soon, the cleanup around there is out of my safe reach now. Probably won't be until next year, though there's another 5000 I'm hunting down...
Alas the video! I see the packer/tailgate has the most recent 5000 configuration (with the 1987+ wide-opening-arc sweep panel), yet it is coupled with the oldest body style, dating to the 1970's (at least in the USA). A very interesting truck indeed.
I can't comment fast enough: 148 views and nine comments after one day on the air. Maybe CRT videos will start to be ranked in the Nielson TV ratings :-]
Yer he told me this truck's always been around, even since the manual waste collections which was one loooong time ago. Don't forget this is a HEIL :D
So this is the truck you were talking about on CRT...I've never seen a HEIL 5000 with the sloped ribs like that...seen many with ribs, but none with sloped ribs, maybe an Aussie exclusive? Anyway, great unloading shot! 5 stars and favorites!
Yes, this is the truck. Yer it puzzles me because all our HEIL RLs that come down here are from the US... unless back then they came from Garwood and now may've been re-badged as HEIL. Thanks :D
Thats an excelent video Mitch. Those packer plates go all the way on most all trucks. But on this one the truck is made better so all the trash falls out.I have seen so many trucks with the blade at the back and trash still stuck in the truck.Did you notice those arm like deals on the packer blade?Wonder what purpose they have to guide it maybe or tell them when its at the back during packing???
Are you referring to the parts that 'protrude' out of the body when the ejector's fully extended to the rear? If so yes they act as the 'guides' / 'shoes' and travel along the track. I believe they also assist a little in ejection... someone correct me if I'm wrong??
In addition to providing stability, I believe those extensions on the ejector blade are to "pre-set" the distance it is extended on an empty truck, so that you don't get it back too far. The 5000's ejector is kind of flat too, and (if my memory is correct) may even interfere with the raised sweep panel if not for those extensions.
I only remember these because I used a truck like this. Our Loadmaster 320's did not have them. I don't know if the new Heil DuraPack body uses them either, since that ejector is totally different. Probably (when they are used at all) they are primarily there to keep the blade stable, to keep from jamming in the tracks. The early Dempster FL had extensions to hold the Tailgate open after unloading, since it was a free-swinging, top-hinged gate.
Check this out, the body is from a Garwood LP-900 but the tailgate is form a Heil Formula 5000.

I remember those days well. By the way you forgot to clean the seal before letting the hopper back down
Curt8153 2 years ago
It's a Heil/Garwood LP-900, Formula 5000 when Heil take over Garwood Industries, and this is one of the first still in use actually.

um did he pack with the ejector forward in stead of forward
robinsonm08 3 years ago
I believe the ejector was retracted to the front during packing... usually the blade is at the back, and gets gradually pushed up by the garbage.
MitchellM15 3 years ago
um i cant under stand that mitch i noteist that there ws a compute in one pice still what was he packing with the ejector forward
its hard to belive that it did not brake .matthew

With a lot of other trucks' ejectors I've seen (including two FLs) they all have these 'extensions' on them. Are these found on the other brands?
