How to start using JavaScript?

Thanks for your video, however why would I want to use an alert box before my page. It would be like those pages that you have to be afraid of if you click you might activate a virus so the only option is to shut down the browser? I could see an alert box being beneficial after you click on something. I think your video overall is very good and you should make more because most of the stuff on the net when trying to learn Javascript is very difficult to comprehend without some audible explanat..
