  • the simpsons + mad men = Epicness

btw this is the opening for Treehouse of Horror XIX of season 20 ep. 4 for those wondering..

  • @ZeppelinWolf87 ooh thank you I was just about to ask that.. :D

  • song name? please tell me someone...

  • @LEVitaminas This is a cover of 'A Beautiful Mine' by RJD2.

  • This came on yesterday

  • Hell I love the Opening to Mad Men this was pretty good

  • Why wasn't he holding a pink doughnut at the end?

  • it´s very fantastic, this video like me!!!

  • i think this is my fav intro of the simpsons, is awesome!

  • lol...Homers lolli at the end:)

  • Thanks for the video, i was looking for.....

  • So awesome <3 :))

  • @ Graemeoliver84 There is one where bart is dressed as Alex for halloween

  • Did you see tonights tree house of horror with the Dexter reference?

  • flanders wife is there,,did any1 notice that lol she died in like 99'.

  • @0:23 skinners mother in a sexy pose lolz

  • awesome!!

  • This is season 20

  • hahahahahahahah awesome !!

  • treehouse of horror haha

  • stupid, somehting family guy would do...

  • @keodakilla It was a Halloween special and an intro to one of the Halloween stories. Don't just automatically assume this was a random gag like Family Guy.

  • LOOOOL HBO

  • I kinda like how this version of the Mad Men theme sounds. I guess its the organic instruments vs the synth instruments

  • This is not a parody, it's just parroting something with Simpsons characters insterted into it. It would be alright if this was the work of a fan but for professional, well-paid writers and animators it's just lazy.

  • @graemeoliver84 Yeah, and you're also describing Family Guy. Kids these days eat up that junk like Werther's Originals.

  • @graemeoliver84 By inserting Simpsons characters they've trivialized the seriousness of the show. "Parroting something with Simpsons characters insterted [sic] into it" is precisely parody. I agree it's a little lazy though.

  • @tomfong292 What Simpsons used to do was take something from a film & fit it into the context of the story - eg. in Duffless the bit from Clockwork Orange where Alex reaches up to the woman's breasts is redone shot for shot as Bart reaching up to a pair of cupcakes (the cherries are like nipples) and then feeling sick (Lisa's been giving him shock treatment). Now that's rather clever and quite subtle, you'd only really recognise it if you'd seen the film. This on the hand is completely obvious.

  • @graemeoliver84 Your comparisons are irrelevant since this is an introduction and not part of the episode's story. In addition, how is this intro functionally different from the examples you mentioned? Parodying the Mad Men intro is not inherently different than parodying the Clockwork Orange scene. In fact, the Clockwork Orange scene is an EXACT EXAMPLE of what you said earlier, i.e. "Parroting something with Simpsons characters insterted [sic] into it." Pretty weak arguments you have there.

  • @tomfong292 As I said, the Clockwork Orange parody was subtle (Bart wasn't dressed like Alex or anything) and it fitted that particular scene (Bart can't touch the cupcakes because he's been through Lisa's experiments - watch the episode), this isn't subtle and it's tacked on (this story isn't anything to do with Mad Men). All I can say is I feel certain The Simpsons is nothing like as witty and funny as it was in the 90s, that's why I don't really watch it anymore. I think others feel the same.

  • @graemeoliver84 Again, silly comparisons. This is an INTRO, of course it's not going to be subtle. In addition, The Simpsons have always parodied popular cultural phenomena; Mad Men is one of them. As for the story not having anything to do with Mad Men, did you even watch the episode? It's entirely about advertising but with a grim twist. "All I can say is I feel The Simpsons is... etc etc" is just an opinion and detracts from your original argument, which was that this is not parody. It is.

  • @tomfong292 Also in this sequence there's no real joke being made.

  • The Simpsons is like the TV equivalent of those newspaper comic strips that go on for eons after they were still fresh and funny.

  • classic

  • Man I've never seen mad men but the intro music alone makes me want to watch it

  • I love the musik

  • Mad Men = synth opening music

    Simpsons version = real instruments!!

  • mortel

  • Awesomeness! :D

  • I actually saw this on one of the Tree Houses of Horror and got curious. Now I'm a Mad Men fanatic :D

  • Don Homer

  • its funny to see that the parody has more views than the original opening

  • @coyotesong LAID!

  • @omfggoogle Hey!! How did YOU know??!!! LOL.

  • @coyotesong It's an intro to a Halloween short that has to do with advertising. It's not a stupid Random Family Guy gag... jeez...

  • big up RJD2..... you made it to the simpsons! love u man

  • what is the song? I love it!

  • @MrNOAJUSTIN RJD2 - a beautiful mine

  • @MrNOAJUSTIN "rjd2" - a beautiful mine - check out everything else he has mede, the man is a genius

  • @MrNOAJUSTIN 'a beautiful mine'

  • @y6tre The title says it all, it's a parody of the TV series "Mad Men", about an advertising firm in the 1960's.

  • @y6tre Since when does the simpsons care about consistency?

  • what episode is this from?

  • 0:24 Spider Pig made a cameo in a picture ;)

  • Thank you!

  • lol the remake of the mad men theme song was the funniest thing to me

  • Song: RJD2 - Beautiful Mine

  • Homer born actor! :)

  • Love the Simpsons

  • In my first comment I typed in the word defile. Have no idea how i did that so please just ignore it

  • When this aired it seemed everybody was trying as hard as they could to prove that they had seen Mad Men. But barely anybody on the planet seemed t know Breaking Bad existed. It wasn't until 2010 that a lot of defile top ten lists started declaring it the best show on TV. Where were they in 2008? I mean, I understand, Breaking Bad is on a relatively low rated cable channel (not as much now though especially with walking dead beating records for cable) and I guess the only reason people noticed

  • drummer fucked up

  • What is the name of the song?!

  • @asir1234567 thanks man

  • can someone please tell me the name of this tune

  • @WaffleHousePrime A Beautiful Mine by RJD2

  • Cela fait un moment que je n'ai pas regardé, et je l'a précis toujours vive les Simpson !

  • hahaha cool!

  • Donald Simpson

  • 68 people hit the wrong button.

  • If you're looking for website to watch it, check out:

    tvshow-cinema . info

  • Everyone click my name and view my video: The Simpsons Shorts 1 - Featuring 7 short bumper toons from the very early days of the simpsons in which some of you people might not know about! marvel at the terrible art style in an era when Matt Groening didn't know what the hell he was doing! Comment and like and subscribe and the like. And remember: no bisniss like D'ohbisness! (HAHA i made that up on the fly - pretty good improvising!)

  • Oh this is is so cute, I love Homer Simpson as Don Draper

  • I just love it

  • These writers are hacks.

They suck compared to the older writers (or if they're the same ones, they've lost their ways). They think they can paper over the gaping cracks in the show with better animation, but FAIL always shines through...

  • @FoxInGoal ya, the simpsons isn't the same, not even close. but for a show that's been on for what, 20, 21 years, seems like complete win to me

  • Homer should have been holding a doughnut at the very end.

  • @WaldoBlvd yeah that's exactly what i thought

  • @WaldoBlvd what WAS he holding?

  • @jaytotheell A lollipop

  • @WaldoBlvd No, because that would be what we all expected.

  • @WaldoBlvd yeah i know right a lolipop dont even make sense

  • @WaldoBlvd homer should have been holding a can of Duff.

  • @WaldoBlvd Or a beer!

  • @WaldoBlvd i was thinking more like a duff beer

  • @WaldoBlvd

I agree with the doughnut idea!!!

  • @WaldoBlvd That or a Duff Beer

  • Notice: The song in the Simpsons intro is less offbeat than the original by RJD2.

  • hahahah this is just great

  • simpson is agent secret

  • I never knew that it was a parody of Mad Men back when I first saw that!

  • Yawn I guess the hack writers at The Simpsons have basic cable and are able to tell what is popular. I can't wait until they do a Breaking Bad parody.

  • @bartov hack writers ? are you serious

  • best shit ive ever seen

  • The name of the episode is also a reference to the movie How To Get Ahead in Advertising

  • You know when a show has made its mark when The Simpsons references it.

  • @casusbelli15 Amen to that. And with as much history as the Simpsons has and its' fame for being such a pop culture hit as well as one of the longest running sitcoms of all time, you know once you get recognized there, it's a show that hits' its' mark as you said.

  • @casusbelli15 so has glee made it's mark?

  • @casusbelli15 i would've agreed with that back in the 90's, but simpsons is running out if ideas lol

  • @casusbelli15 So true, they are like the benchmark for who's "made it" haha

  • don draper is homer Simpson, I see it now

  • I wish it was longer. D:

  • What does this have to do with halloween?

  • if anyone is interested in gettting a desktop background of homer with thee lolipop then send me a message or reply tothis and i will send u the link :D

  • @quicsilver87 o yea i want that as a screen saver, love mad men

  • He's Homer Simpson, shouldn't he be holding a doughnut?

  • @ralfietv that's what i was expecting!

  • mmmm what isnt great about the simpsons?

  • expected a drink...guess that wouldnt be new...not for Homer :D

  • so much better then the real one

  • Not really sure what any of you are on about, but from my opinion, The Walking Dead and Boardwalk Empire seem like the two coolest shows right now. Wish I could watch either, but I live in Europe. :/

  • @Nushicat er... cof cof cof nudge nudge p2p... cof cof cof...

  • @Nushicat

Unless you go to the library to write comments on YouTube, I'm fairly sure Megavideo, BlinkX, PB and so forth could help you watch whatever you want.. Sure does for me.

  • @Nushicat Download them.

  • @Nushicat

Weird, Boardwalk Empire is just on tv over here in Belgium.

  • i liked the part when the parody was there.

  • LOL at random picture of Skinners mom in a bikini! Funny yet disturbing

  • I like how this has more views than the video of the actual intro

  • epic...

  • RJD2 ftw

  • Love it!!

  • This scene alone makes up for the last 12 years of The Simpsons as a whole. Holy shit.

  • Season 20 :D got it on DVD.. Hell yeah!!

  • when did they play this on TV ¿¿¿???

  • @matias7anriquez treehouse of horror i beileve the 20th one

  • @kkid2005 thanx bro

  • The average YouTube user watches cartoon network and/or anime. I am glad to be watching mad men and breaking bad. It makes me seem more mature.

  • @TehBirdzNBeez I watch Cartoon Network, Breaking Bad and Mad Men. Does that just make me the bees-knees?

  • @AdamWe631

Lol, No. I love AMC's stuff. But teletoons @ night stuff is fucking hilarious. Only cartoons I would ever watch. Archer ftw..

  • @AdamWe631

Yes, it also makes you unusual in the youtube masses.

    Congratulations, you have bragging rights.

  • great!

  • That's awesome right there. Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Ashes to Ashes are the best shows on right now.

  • I love it. Two of my favourite shows so nicely blended together.

  • Man, this i better than the original

  • was that skinners mom in that low cut dress?

  • @bollywoodgal yaaa

  • Dexter, Mad Men and Rubicon are the best fucking shows on TV.

  • @N7ProtoSpectre no Mad men is terrible. breaking Bad is th e best thing on right now.

  • @myfacesp

I like breaking bad, but I also like Mad Men, just because it's grown on me since the start. But honestly now, Walking Dead is fucking sick !

  • @N7ProtoSpectre is walking dead a new show?

  • @lockness89

Yeah ! Walking Dead was based off of a comic but the producers of Mad Men helped fund a lot of money into this show. Honestly. you have not seen zombie work until you have seen Walking Dead. I recommend catching up on the AMC website. Theres only two ep's so far, =]

  • @myfacesp

well, that's your opinion. RIght now, Broadway Empire is the best thing in TV. more critical acclaim than breaking bad. I don't get Breaking Bad. It is the same as Weed, right?

  • DEXTER AND BREAKING BAD ARE THE BEST THINGS ON TV!

  • @BrawlingPaladinCloud yes never seen decter but ive seen the first season of breaking bad so far and it is the best show on right now.

  • This parody made me realize that Mad men is Ad men with a (m) in front of it.

  • @Chimera1591 And the major ad firms in New York are on Madison Ave...which is why they're called "Mad Men."

  • @Chimera1591 !!! damn you are right

  • Thumbs up if you can't wait for Jon Hamm (Don Draper) to guest-star on an episode of The Simpsons scheduled to air in December!

  • @KevalProduction aren't you special....

  • DEXTER IS THE BEST THING ON TELEVISION

  • @KevalProduction havent seen dexter but breaking bad is the best thing on tv.

  • @myfacesp i suggest u watch it

  • does anyone know if there' s a poster of homer simpson in this black and white style?

  • is that agnes skinner oh god no

  • AHAH GREAT !

  • Best Shows on TV are Definitely Breaking Bad and Mad Men.

  • @LuiszEnriqueSanchez idk mad men just doesnt do it for me. ive seen the fist season of breaking bad though and it is greeat

  • Homer should had been holding a donut instead of a lollipop. Donuts are to Homer to what cigarettes are to Don Draper.

  • mad men the best tv show on tv by far

  • @lautrecc33 For me Dexter, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men are my top 3 shows (in that order)

  • john hamm is so hot

  • awesome!!!!!

  • This isn't a parody

  • This would have been better if it went a little faster

  • @soozin511 It's just the perfect pace.
