so "He is trying to be so cool by wearing tie and jeans and beard" the opinion the opinion of people about how other people dress is so subjective and relative, some might say that if you dress up in a suit at church you are cocky acting like you are superior to everybody, intimidating...and that would be judgemental too.
in response to 10:28 = WELL!! the same could be said about a conservative church that sings hymns only or outdated songs they are all worshipful or doesn't pay any attention to young people, it alienates them!
He is actually concerned about looks!, how does he know that they are rebels by the way they dressed and look, he is judgmental, it's different to say that somebody is cool and that somebody is trying to be cool the first one is admiration and attraction the later one is jealousy, judgement and envy
“Christ will never be cool. Terrifying, life-changing, shocking, and iconoclastic, but never cool. Jesus is not my homeboy. The Gospel will always be relevant but never trendy.” - Jon Foreman
This guy knows it by theory but I'm sorry look at the guy. Don't mean to judge on appearance but think of how many ppl judge the Bible before opening it. U can still be a cool christian and be hip. As humans we need change its ok to change wit tha trends but hold onto the things that dont change such as Truf and Luv and obedience to do so.Be trendsetters. Actions speak louder than words and same goes for being a devout follower of Christ and God's word. Come to Billings, MT we'll show you how.

this video is pretty good! The balance is really hard to find, being relevant is important but it can go too far; at the same time tradition can be good when the reasoning behind it is understood, but sticking to the unnecessary traditions w/o knowing their significance can be bad too.
If Christians want to be relevant to society, why don't they try giving a shit about people instead of hiding in their rented buildings listening to some arrogant prick with a Bible degree preaching a bunch of hyperbolic bullcrap sprinkled with religious platitudes?
many false christs come speaking many false doctrines. Only those who repent of their sins, turn away from their carnal lifestyle, pick up their cross and daily follow Jesus, only these are even worthy to dare mention the name of Jesus Christ. All others are poking sticks at a caged Lion, what they don't realize is that the door to the cage is about to spring open!!!
@makeitrain47 "my own self righteousness" I'm not sure where you would get that idea but I assure you that I am not righteous at all. But the grace of God is at work in me and by God's grace I do not look at women or pornography, I do not have fits of anger, I do not lie or gossip, I am growing daily in love and gentleness, learning to be more like Christ.
"Our Culture moves so fast and it's so disposable and everything, everything trendy today will be passe tomorrow but the Gospel is something that has lasted and as long as we cling to that I think we'll be in good shape."
I don't think people get it---it's not about trying to make christainity "cool,"it's just that people my age want a more authentic christainity,we want God, not a rule book giving us ten more reasons why we're all going to hell.

that's the "relevant" Christian guy? if he wore jeans, a printed t-shirt, a leather jacket and his hair was a mess that would be more relevant.

It's making christianity more relevant, not more cool.

You don't make following Jesus relevant. It's relevant all on its own.
