  • I wonder if Toshiba has anything like this mmmmm

  • Is the touch screen responsive only to the finger..or you can use a stylus too ..?

  • would this be good for graphic designing??? plz reply

  • wat r the specs for it , the ram n the hard drive ? plz tell me the whole list of it . thanks .

  • All specs are in the first few comment for this video, if that helps?

  • ACTUALLY, you're the second, I made the first review buddyyy =P

  • I think they have stopped this model now cant seem to order it in uk now

  • @philosophicalphil yeah, they did =/ It's really a shame, it's an awesome laptop

  • @philosophicalphil I like to do some light to medium gaming. But I think touchscreens are very useful.

Would you recommend going for better graphics on the Dell XPS (Nvidia gt 555m) or should I go for the touchscreen? (Both the same amount of money).

  • ok i would love it,but is there it in a shape of an ipad.just without a key board.fremeo@aol.com.Romeo

  • um.. i have a dell studio 17 but not touch. can you get it upgraded and does it weigh any different?

thanks. :) good review by the way.

  • Thanks, Errmm i dont think you can just upgrade as far as i know...and yeah the screen adds about 50% more to the weight of the laptop i think

  • can you draw with the touch screen ??????

  • Yes Easily

  • Smoke detector needs batteries!! LOL

  • Yeah went through a few months before i realised that f***ing thing

  • Is this the largest touch screen laptop available today? I want the DV8 with a touch screen D:< lol

  • I find HP laptops to not feel so well made but maybe thats just me :s, i haven't seen a bigger touchscreen laptop ....but this thing is really heavy ...really is a desktop replacement more than somthing you'd want to carry atound all the time.

  • @philosophicalphil Heh, speak for yourself :P I carry around my 17" HP laptop everywhere and it weighs about 8lbs, I wouldn't mind it being 10lbs for a bigger laptop with a touch screen. My laptop uses the older backlight technology, so the battery lasts 1 hour max, I wouldn't mind having a larger one that lasts less than an hour, but I know even 18 inch laptops today last over an hour, so it's all good.

  • @nambinhvu noooo the Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q890 is the biggest it has a 18.4 inch display!

  • could i use this like a regular laptop for things like internet browsing and and typing documents then only use the touch screen for the games?

  • Of course as long as the games can cope with touchscreen use

  • sales guy at dell said they have run out and are waiting for more but it may not be the same model, price and could not give me a time scale! seems strange are dell losing money on this I think they are and having taken touch screen off pending review.

  • That seems ridiculous...but then i suppose they are now seriously head to head with the IPAD. This Laptop is no where near as portable. Maybe if they were to lightnen it or put a swiveling screen on it: who knows

  • At the moment of writing this Dell seems to have taken off the touch screens. I asked the sales guy and he say they are taking them off the site for the time being I have no idea why as the site is still advertising them!!!!!!! MAD!

  • yeah funny you should say that i couldn't find them when i was looking for somone earlier if you type touch screen all you get is the lattitude or a link to the studio 17 without touchscreen ...maybe not big enough sales makes these things worth more in the future though i guess

  • Which of Dell Studio 17 are TOUCHSCREEN ?

If this is touchscreen, than it's 1749, and not 17,

    as you named your video...

  • I love joke comments like this, I will presume it's a joke to save you the embarassment caused by everyone reading this actually thinking you didn't realise the 17 (meaning 17inch), that is after the word studio (the design). Isn't the correct model type for this laptop ...yes 1749 is the manafacturers code but you already knew this, & I of course have no need to tell you 'Dell Studio 17 Touchscreen' was how it was listed on the dell website when launched. Ha Ha Good One ,I love your dry wit. x

  • does it have fingerprint reader? i just ordered 1 and am awaiting so wondered??

  • If you ordered it with Facial recognition it most definatley will not come with a finger print reader

  • thank you for all your help @philosophicalphil

  • can you show how the tv works?? i believe it has a tv antenar

  • It has a place to fit an antena but no in built digital tuner unless you ordered it specifically.

  • can you please show how the facial recognition works??

  • I ordered some high specs and didn't choose to have the facial recognition.

  • ok well this is a nice comp but its kinda pointless.. -.- whats the point of the touchscreen when it wont turn into a tablet... bullshit computer

  • if it was a tabelt it would be too big and becuse half of windowsand the rest of programs arn't optimized for multi touch then half the things you would use it as a tablet for would be useless.

  • How is the screen, like when you drag your finger across it to write on that note thig, does it get like hard to use where your finger gets "stuck".

  • Is the touchscreen static (like iphone) or pressure touch (like most older phones)

  • Static you cant use pens or stylus on the screen i even orders the new htc capactive touch stylus and it is still difficult to use

  • just wondering if you can use the multi touch for other application such as photoshop or firefox etc? planning to get this one if that works well or better to get the full hd 1080?

  • No idea mate i dont use photoshop the touch sceeen works with paint though so i dont see why it wouldnt work

  • i ordered one but it doesnt have the touch display hah. does it have this biometric scan thingy where u put your finger on and then it turns on?

  • Hello, my Girlfriend wants to order that laptop. But there could be a problem with the touchdisplay because she has long fingernails ( woman style ). Could you say me whether the display works when you touch with findernails too or just with the skin on the fingers ? I would be very thankfull for an answer! Good Video! Greetz

  • No It will not work with fingernails im afraid

  • @philosophicalphil why you are afraid ?

  • I just ordered the laptop but without a touch screen. I dont like smudges on my screen and i heared the touch pad has the same options like squeze, rotate and enlarge stuff??

  • Enlarges and shrinks webpages on the touch pad but no rotate and hit and miss scrolling

  • Just ordered mine 5 min ago can't wait to get it

  • If nothing else the soaund quality will bloew you away, but the touch screen is pretty sweet

  • @mikewa16721 how much?me too i want to make an order.

  • @rpabustan depends, in Norway the cheapest version (4GB ram/ 320 GB harddisk) costs £700.

  • is this with the core i7?

  • Mine has core i5 but i7 option is availible i just didnt need it for how i use the laptop

  • is it good with photoshop

  • by that i mean does the touch screen work well with a stylus on photoshop

  • good point well made

  • quick video , 9.55m quick ? i would hate to listen to u blabering on more than 9 seconds

  • awesome. i have one ordered that is in production right now. i cant wait to get it!!!!!

  • is the screen glass or plastic?

  • It is glass

  • do you find the touch screen can be annoying at times ?

  • Not really it has never not worked and you quickly leanrn what it can and cant handle. Also unlike the ipad or similar you can always just use the touch pad or keyboard

  • I looked on the dell web page and blue ray isnt as a option , do you have any idea why not?

  • No clue id imagine they think this package is expensive enough .... im sure if you actually phoned through your order they could sort somthing out for you.

  • @philosophicalphil it is.....just look harder

  • How does this handle gaming and is the touch screen resistive or capcative

  • Capacative I believe, gaming is great but best to turn off use of the touchscreen though as it is not as easy to click and hold with the screen alone ...that said, you could just not touch the screen ....but it becomes all to tempting after a while.

  • you can be on a big big webpage :P haha

nah man cool review, but jumpy though

  • does the rotate 180 degrees , like a tablet

  • No unfortunatley it doesnt

  • do you find yourself using the touch screen or the touch pad more?

  • Depends what you're doing. Small items are difficult to touch or navigate but general uasage and browsing I touch the screen its so much easier and feels more responsive.

The best thing about it is the fact it does have full keyboard with number pad so you dont have to type on screen although a box appears everytime it thinks your going to type

  • YEA i cant wait i love this laptop sooo much from what ive researched!

i might be gettting one for my birthday (june 8)!! i cant wait!!

if i do stay tuned for a unboxing/review!!

    i swear i will!!

just subscribe to my channel and when i make it you will be the first to see it =]

  • hi, how many fingers can you use at the same time on the screen? the acer notebook allows two (only)

  • You can use 4 with ease but it can occasionally recognise 5
