It has no past & quite possibly no future the way it's going! :) The very name "India" as well as other indic elements is derived from the name of the river Indus or "Sindhu". It's actually the sapta-sindhu civilization or the Indus-Saraswati civilization. Following drying up of the Saraswati river due to shifting plate tectonics, the IV civilation migated outwards with the majority migrating eastwards to the more fertile, alluvial plains of the Indo-gangetic basin
