wow. thanks for posting this. we watched it live here in the Philippines from the satellite feed.. and it's amazing that the Philippine broadcaster covered it non-stop for 28 hours from Dec 31 to Jan 1.. nostalgic.
I remember this really well, despite being only 6 years old. Does any one else remember there was a feature on this programme where they showed you round this family's home, and they had re-decorated their entire bathroom (possibly home too) in "2000" themed stuff... does anyone have footage of that? It would be funny to see it again!
I was sad enough to have watched most of this in (then) Mother's room (now my room) for about 14-16 hours of it, like Gaby I had catnaps, but I agreed it was the biggest event of it type for a generation, but no-one believes me that this programme actually existed.
I miss this type of programming, I also wished I could have recorded all 28+ hours on VHS so I could have had them converted to DVD today.
I'm so pathetic but I really enjoyed this programme.
Thanks for uploading this. I remember watching the start of 2000 today at 9.15am on Friday, 31 December 1999. I vaguely remember fireworks being lit outside our house, even at this time. Now we're here, at the end of this first decade of the 2000s. What an incredible moment to witness and be a part of.
Sends a shiver down your spine when he says that "when we finish tomorrow well be over half-way into the first day of the next ONE THOUSAND YEARS". To think we stood at such a special point in time
Great you've uploaded this. 2000 Today was the greatest programme ever in my opinion! The last programme before 2000 Today was Chucklevision. The first progamme after 2000 Today was the Sound Of Music. FACT!
is there anywhere where i can find the rest of this? :)

I wonder if, in 2999 people - if there are any - will be considering the possibility of a Y3K Bug.

I really wish I paid more attention to this when it aired. WGBH Boston(my local PBS station) co-produced the entire thing with the BBC.

Strange that they used a greek version of desert before the eastenders trailer.

BBC is super cool because they never hardly have commericals.
phoneix91 3 years ago 5
They never have commercials. The downside though is that you have to pay for that.

@rtk316ytshooter94 wtf?! our public broadcasting service has commercials and in the same time we pay for it!!!

Brings back memories from 8 years ago =)
I also watched it on TV3 Estonia btw.
Infern04914 4 years ago 2
I second that... What a pity it was never released on video in Estonia... And TV3 Estonia what aired it only repeated it once in 2000...
