Yea, we live just south of the Cape, and we can see it every time it launches from our back yard (well except for the trees in other people's yards that get in the way occasionally). It's truely amazing. Now that I'm away at school, I don't see them anymore, and I miss it. It's an incredible thing.
My late Dad worked on the Gemini, Mercury and Apollo programs. I have wonderful memories of seeing the launches up close and personal, meeting the astronauts -- and mostly, I miss my Dad.
I view EVERY shuttle launch with the fascination of my childhood -- and pray they all come home safely.
And that folks, was the longest fart in history.

We live in a suburb of Tampa and can see it on occasion. Your view is better, though. ;o)
